  • Kitchen Table Magic – 216 – Frank Stanley joins us for Happy Hour
In this episode, I’m speaking with Frank Stanley, event organizer and Judge at Mox Boarding House in Bellevue Washington. Every week, Frank puts on multiple events at Mox Boarding House where a hundred or so regulars pack the tournament room.
Frank cares deeply about the community and is always there to help Magic players experience the game at its best. Frank and I sat down last week for some after hours fun. We drank a few beers and discussed a wide range of topics with shout outs for the Seattle Magic Community.
Special thanks for Rachel for making some delicious snacks for us.
Special thanks to my best friend Phil for hosting us.
You’ll find Frank in person at Mox Boarding House in Bellevue Washington, each week running events.
You’ll also find Frank on Twitter @ItsThatFrankGuy.
I’ll have links for the Gauntlet Charity event that’s being hosted at Mox on Sunday May 21st at www.thegauntlet2017.causevox.com/
I also take a moment to acknowledge everyone in the Seattle Magic community. Just like Frank said, you’ve there for us in so many ways. It’s shaped my life for the better and I’m truly grateful. I also want to thank the greater Magic community, for generously welcoming this humble little podcast into your lives. The messages I receive in emails, on Facebook and Twitter are so uplifting.
Thanks so much everyone for joining in on our ridiculousness and thank you for listening.
I hope you enjoy my interview with Frank Stanley!
This episode of Kitchen Table Magic is brought to you by Paragon City Games.
The Kitchen Table Magic podcast has been all about the origins of the game and members of the community.
And as a community, we’ve come a long way since the game first started.
Apart from the Kitchen Table, the only other places in your local community to play Magic are at local game stores.
That’s why places like Paragon City Games is so important for our community.
At Paragon City Games, you’ll find a spacious and clean showroom with lots of elbow room for Magic events.
You’ll find thoughtful accessories like Die Hard Metal Dice and hand crafted wooden deck boxes.
You’ll find a huge supply of Legacy, Modern, and Standard staples, sealed product, and table top games.
It’s places like Paragon City Games that allow local Magic communities to gather in.
And if you can’t make it there in person, be sure to watch their weekly stream at Twitch.tv/ParagonCityGames.
Remember to spread the love with a Like on Facebook and a follow on Twitter for Paragon City Games.
They also have great online reviews and that shows their commitment to excellent customer service for their player community.
Thanks everyone for listening to this week’s show.

  • MTG Pro Tutor – 198: Robert Lombardi Returns for Magic PRO-Pourri
Robert Lombardi still has a Degree in Mechatronics Engineering (he hasn't lost it), and is married and has a 15-month-old son. He has 3 Grand Prix top 8s now including a win at Grand Prix Toronto 2016. He’s still better at Limited than Constructed and is striving to not be 1 point shy of Silver. Robert was first on the MTG Pro Tutor podcast in episode 125.

How to Effectively Prepare for a Big Event
Robert played around with all the top decks and found his stride with Mardu vehicles.
FNM Side Board VS. Pro Side Board
You know the meta much better at the local level. Your board at a big event is less targeted.
    First Strike Podcast
Robert is co-hosting a spiky podcast about competitive Magic.
Brian Gottlieb is the best built from scratch deck builder.

As always, please leave us a message at [email protected]. We love to hear your feedbacks and get topic ideas for future episodes. Thank you!
