这是西游记中一个很滑稽的故事。孩子们听到严肃谨慎的唐僧竟然和懒惰贪吃的猪八戒一起，喝了子母河的水，十分尴尬地怀孕了，一定觉得很好玩儿。幸亏孙悟空和沙僧千辛万苦找来落胎泉的泉水，才解救了师徒二人。

孙悟空虽然本领大，这次遇到的独角怪却有一件神通广大的宝贝，把孙悟空和天兵天将的兵器都套走了。这种宝贝当然不是凡间之物，原来是太上老君的青牛偷了金刚镯下界作乱。神话里和现实世界一样，最厉害的妖怪都是“有来头的”。

故事告诉孩子们一个北极狐狸的生活习性，它们在夏天把一些食物深深地埋进雪洞里，到冬天实在找不到东西吃的时候用来救命。其实许多动物都有这种习性。这对我们人类来说也是启发和提醒，要让孩子知道，食物是应该珍惜的。

唐僧师徒走到车迟国，被三个“国师”阻挡，这次不是要吃唐僧肉，却是要和唐僧比赛，比输了就要杀头示众。比赛进行得惊心动魄，在孙悟空的帮助下，唐僧取得胜利，三个“国师”也现了原形，原来是老虎、白鹿和羚羊。

这是一个日本童话，但这个小小的一寸法师很像变小了的孙悟空，被妖怪吞进肚子里以后，在里面用刀乱刺，最后战胜了妖怪。
