Once upon a time, in a vibrant kingdom, lived Princess Oranja, who had long, flowing orange hair like the setting sun. Princess Oranja was famous for one thing...her enormous love for sweets!
Every morning, the Princess started her day with a thick slice of chocolate fudge cake, followed by a towering, heavily-iced cupcake for lunch, and finished with warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream for dinner. The treats were so delicious that she never bothered to eat fruits or vegetables.
One day, the beautiful Royal Garden began to fail. Princess Oranja's favorite flowers started to wilt, and the leaves turned brown. The Royal Botanist tried everything, but nothing helped.
Saddened, Princess Oranja sought the advice of a Wise Old Woman who lived at the edge of the forest. The woman looked at the Princess with a kind smile and said: "My dear, these flowers are like you. They need the right things to thrive, not just the things that make them the happiest."
The Princess was confused. "The right things?"
The Wise Woman replied: "Good food for the soil is a balanced mix of nutrients, not just sweet syrup. The flowers need sunlight, water, and good earth. You, Princess, also need balance for a healthy body and mind."
Princess Oranja realized the Wise Woman was showing her that the soil had been over-fertilized with sweet, sugary substances instead of essential minerals, much like the Princess herself only ate sweet treats instead of the nutrients her body truly needed.
The Princess returned and commanded the gardeners to change the soil regimen, bringing in essential minerals instead of sugary concoctions. And she began to change her own diet. She started eating colorful vegetables and fruits with her regular meals, allowing herself only a small dessert afterwards instead of the entire meal being dessert.
Soon, the flowers in the garden bloomed again, more beautiful and stronger than before. Princess Oranja also felt more energetic and happier. She had learned that true joy comes from taking balanced care of herself, not just indulging in simple pleasures.
