In this lesson, I speak about the importance of cleansing the heart of the impurities that constantly invade it. This is the most important cleansing that needs to take place for a person to really benefit from his prayer. If our hearts are impure and our hearts are connected to the life of this world and the people within it, there is no benefit in our bodies being pure. We have to constantly strive to cleanse our hearts from the impurities of disobedience, love of this world, jealousy, envy, hatred, love of sins, love of things and people that are displeasing to Allah, arrogance, etc. By cleansing our hearts of these impurities we enter into a real state of servitude. When we enter the prayer, we enter humble and ready to serve Allah.

In this episode, I will go over the Hadith of Abu Amrah in Sahih Muslim in which the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Say that you believe in Allah, and then be upright." The understanding of being upright goes back to obeying the orders of Allah and His Messenger and avoiding all the prohibitions.
