In this week’s episode of Multi-Family Method, Ed Kobel, President and COO of DeBartolo Development, joins us to discuss his journey in the multi-family industry. Ed began his commercial real estate career by founding Trinity Development where he engaged in new retail development as well as value-added shopping center renovations. Prior to overseeing DeBartolo Development, Ed was a partner at Fortis Advisors in Scottsdale, an affiliate company of DeBartolo Property Group where he managed over $600M in real estate projects. Now as President and COO, Ed leads DeBartolo Development’s investment strategy, execution, and capitalization.
The DeBartolo name has been an icon in the real estate industry for more than seven decades. Since the beginning, when legendary entrepreneur Edward J. DeBartolo, SR. pioneered the first shopping mall concept, the DeBartolo legacy has been synonymous with success.
Today, the company invests in real estate assets of all sizes, specializing in opportunistic acquisitions and market-driven, ground up development of multifamily, hospitality, industrial, retail and mixed-use projects throughout the United States.
We hope you enjoy some of Ed’s insights into building a successful multi-family real estate investment company.
