Nic is the founder of Polymath Legal and a tenured professor of law, with an LLM in Taxation and Financial Services. He has worked with successful Multifamily Real Estate Investors such as Veena Jetti and has extensive experience working with syndicators, real estate developers, entrepreneurs, and more.
The conversation starts with Nic's background and how he became interested in law and entrepreneurship. He emphasizes the importance of taking risks and getting out of a scarcity mindset, which he learned from a friend during college. Nic also shares his experience starting his own law firm during an economic downturn and how relationships played a crucial role in helping him succeed.
The conversation then shifts to syndication and the legal aspects of raising capital for real estate projects. Nic explains syndication as pooling capital together to fund a project and the importance of understanding SEC regulations and the Howie test.
