Evan Holladay is the President and CEO of Holladay Ventures - a fast-growing workforce and mixed-income multifamily development real estate company in Nashville, TN. He is the former Development Director for LDG Development for multi-family affordable/workforce housing deals concentrating on Tennessee and Louisiana. To date, Evan has sourced and developed over $100 million, helping create 600+ units of new affordable housing. He’s worked in innovative financing – introducing and utilizing the first PILOT (Payment In Lieu Of Taxes) in many jurisdictions, utilizing Renewable Energy Credits with LIHTC, and working with HOME, CDBG, Project Based Vouchers, and HUD 221d4 financing. Evan is an advocate for affordable housing and was recently featured in the book CRA at Forty: Views on the Present and Future of Community Reinvestment.

My Guest today is Anette Lyons-Evans. She is a Mom of two, Principal and Managing Partner of Talie Investments with her husband Ryan. Anette is responsible for sourcing deals, ensuring asset performance and overseeing its management. 

Anette is an experienced real estate investor, with property management experience and a commercial architect currently residing in South Florida.

A native of Lima, Peru , Anette moved to Florida to fulfill her life dream of studying abroad. She transferred, receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from Florida Atlantic University. In her 18 years in architecture, Anette has acquired a broad range of experience in architectural design and effective project management on a wide variety of project types. She is known for being highly organized and an excellent coordinator of construction documents. Her confident leadership and innovative building and planning solutions make her very effective at identifying unique value-add opportunities in real estate investing. She has quickly grown her personal portfolio to 12 units in the South Florida Area.

Anette balances a young growing family with her robust career, property management and growing investment portfolio.

So excited for this weeks "Mothers Of Multifamily" (MOM)!!! My guest Chat Steinwald made my laugh, cry and realize that the best thing that we can all do as women, mothers and entrepreneurs is to take action and "Just do it" as Chat says. Chat has co-founded a women’s group, Multifamily Women’s Mastermind with over 300 very successful and active members in the industry. 

I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I loved taping it!

Chat is a native of the Philippines. Her dream, as a child, just like any other Filipino was to live in America. She would watch the sunset in her native Island, knowing that the sun was rising in America. As a best laid plan to pursue her dream to come to America, she worked as an Accounts Analyst with Philippine Airlines for two years to use her travel benefit to migrate to the USA.

She migrated to Los Angeles at the age of 23, armed with a hundred dollars and a degree in accounting and a fearless drive for the American dream. Three weeks later, she landed at Dunn & Bradstreet as a Trust Accountant and remained there eleven years. 

She then opened her own boutique spa in the toney neighborhood of Brentwood, CA., a move precipitated by the need to spend more time with her son, Mitch. Being a mother was the most important job that she did not take for granted. Her spa was named one of L.A.’s finest by Beauty Magazine Editors including Allure, InStyle and TimeOut.

21 years later, and her son now 30 and safely on his way, Chat decided to close the spa and open yet another chapter in her life. She now focuses on multi-family and commercial real estate investing.  Her mentor, whom she met in 2018 is the nationally known Rod Khleif. Since joining Rod’s program, Chat has become a limited partner in 800 apartment units and a GP in 208 units.

She has quickly discovered the potential and opportunities for solid returns in multi-family residential investing, by aligning with solid, reputable partners and helping others to discover the same. 

She looks forward to more partnerships with great sponsors in the industry and to increase her portfolio and grow her networth more by actively investing in apartments.

Chat loves to travel and loves to give back and plans to do more philanthropic works in the near future.
