In Luke 4, Jesus steps into his hometown synagogue and announces why he has come, declaring good news, freedom, and healing for those willing to admit their need. What begins as admiration quickly turns to outrage when Jesus reveals that God’s grace has always moved toward the unlikely and the outsider, forcing a decision about who he really is. This message invites us to accept Jesus on his terms and to embody that same grace as we join him in his mission to rescue and restore.

On this special Family Commissioning Sunday, we take a look at Luke 18 where Jesus’ declares children worthy of his presence. Our desire as a church is to empower parents to embody this vision within their homes, but then as a church, to provide supplemental support to our families.

Luke 4:1–13, we follow Jesus into the wilderness to see how temptation actually works and how it is resisted. Jesus exposes the tactics of the enemy, resists out of identity rather than willpower, and shows us that victory comes from trusting the Father and relying on the Spirit. This message reminds us that salvation is not an escape from the fight, but an invitation to live from the victory Jesus has already won.

We continue our study in the book of Luke by transitioning to the early years of Jesus is ministry. Today will look at Luke chapter 3, and examine the phrase “the time is now, enter the dance”. As we start off the new year, the invitation is to take a next step, and use all of your life for Jesus.

Christmas is a season of waiting, and Luke’s story of Simeon and Anna shows us what faithful waiting looks like. This message invites us to examine how care, clarity, and consistency in our waiting can open our eyes to the hope, light, and salvation Jesus brings.

In this message from Luke 2, we meet the shepherds. While overlooked, forgotten, and stuck in their own waiting rooms, they are the first to hear the good news of Jesus’ birth. The announcement of “fear not, good news, great joy for all people” reveals that Christianity isn’t advice on how to escape our waiting rooms, but the announcement that God has entered them. As the shepherds respond in faith, we’re invited to receive a new identity in Christ, share what we’ve seen, and belong to the people of God

In week two of our Advent series The Waiting Room, we look at Mary and what it means to surrender fully to God even when the path ahead feels unclear. Through her ordinary, open, and inquisitive faith, we discover how real hope grows in the tension between questions and obedience. This message invites us to embrace surrender, reclaim hope, and stay connected as we wait for the One who keeps every promise.
