"You'll learn that on the streets" was our parents' approach to "the talk". Determined to break the cycle of repression, we dive right into it with our boys. From boners to wet dreams, we Beavis & Butthead our way through birds and the bees convo with our kids.
In Episode 5, we welcome our first guest, our good friend Kristie. Liz starts us off, by discussing what it means to be part of the "Sandwich generation", where we are charged with taking care of our kids and our parents (sorry, we would also rather be discussing the best ingredients in a sandwich). Then Kristie joins Lindsey, as they share their personal stories about what it’s like having a parent with Alzheimer’s and the difficult journey and decisions that come along with that. We promise you, will still laugh a little as well.
From Tiger King to Jeffrey Epstein, Abducted in Plain Sight, the Ted Bundy Tapes, The Social Dilemma, etc., etc, the silver lining of this pandemic is undoubtedly being able to binge watch some weird and wacky stuff. And there is definitely something out there for everyone. But we're not just watching the normal go to's. No. It's not that simple. Find out these self-described TV junkies, Liz and Lindsey, find entertaining these days. You will be surprised, maybe a little bit horrified, and you might pick up some fun facts about aliens, The Go-Gos, and fight culture.
In Episode 3, we tackle a potentially sensitive subject: IVF. Both of us went through IVF for different reasons and with different results. As we're sure everyone can agree, the road to to parenthood is almost never a smooth one. It’s typically filled with speed bumps, potholes, a decent amount of detours, and sometimes a lot of tears. But however you ended up becoming a parent, the journey is a very personal one. Follow us and subscribe! Find us wherever you get your podcasts as well! In Episode 2, we discuss those things, we hope our kids don't do that we did "Do as I say, not as we did". Like that time you lied to your parents and went to that party, or the time you lied to your parents and went to that other party. You get the picture. Our kids are there. And they are more challenged in the common sense department than we were because tech has destroyed their brains. What are we in for?
Multitasking In Heels Podcast is here to remind everyone - we're all doing okay as parents, and people, even though it feels like we're failing. We are frenzied, and tired (I mean, like really, really tired), but deep down inside of us, there is still a fabulous person hiding in plain sight. In Episode 1, we discuss "Identity Theft" and not the kind where someone in another country, or even another state, gets your credit card and charges a bunch on rims and protein powder (listen to the podcast for the inside on this). We're talking about slowly becoming invisible, becoming a title; a mom, a wife, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, slap a generic name tag on it and that's your new role. You cease to become an individual. So take a listen! Follow and subscribe! Find us wherever you get your podcasts as well! And all the socials, multitaskinginheels.
