In this episode, we talk about our student of the week: Linda W! As one of our adult students, we've watch her transform from reserved and nervous, to outgoing and confident. Now she performs regularly with our busking group and even brings MC to her friends.
We also discuss all the opportunities coming up this month for performers: Downtown Sarasota Alliance, Lemon Tree Kitchen, a local toy drive, Wreathes Across America, and more!
In this episode we talk about the power of music to express someone's feelings/emotions. Through the words and 🎵, music speaks when there are no words to express how we feel. Many parents want their child to learn music, but some don't realize that investing in music is more like investing in learning a language, not a math class; music becomes a tool for a child to express his or herself. It's not about playing the right notes, but using the notes you learn to express yourself.
In this episode, we discuss why adult music lessons should be different from kid lessons. Congratulations to student of the week: Dr Heitor! Busy week this week with Dr Idol + Giving Hunger the Blues.
Last week, someone threw some shade on Music Compound. So we felt it appropriate to respond with our own message, "Why Music Compound may not be the right fit for you."

Charlie is one of our adult piano students. He's been taking piano lessons with Ms Mary for almost a year now. He decided to start lessons in order to grow closer to his children and grand children. He always wanted to be a piano player, but life happened, can you relate? Well not he's coming in every week (even showing up early to get some extra practice) and he's slated to perform WITH his family for the holidays. We are so proud of him and thankful to share this journey with him.
