While Davids career has been more behind the scenes in the past few decades, he has one the most fascinating journeys of any SA musician. He went from wanting to be a US style folk singer in Leeds in the UK to a satirical South African musician/performer who put smiles on South Africans of all races when he became the face of the VW Combi's in the 80's and ultimately created some of the greatest and most successful South African musicals ever with longtime collaborator, the late Taliep Peterson.
