In this Episode Jo Boyce is in conversation with Nana-Adwoa Mbeutcha, a long-time friend of CJM MUSIC and the founder of the recently launched Catholic Talent Agency.

Nana-Adwoa’s connection with the music and ministry of CJM goes way back. Now, as a busy wife and mother of a growing, young family, Nage’s faith remains central to her life and work.

Nage reminisces about her involvement in the Celebrate Youth Chorus, and many Born for This productions in her teens and twenties, and we play a couple of her favourite songs. She also shares her vision for the Catholic Talent Agency and how she hopes to support and elevate the ministry of Catholic creatives – especially those young up and coming; and to help event planners find the right people. We also hear a little about the hopes and expectations of parish life and why events and conference beyond the parish are needed to sustain and feed our faith.

In this episode Jo Boyce will be talking to Tom Bonard of Crossbeam about the evolution of his music ministry and song-writing. In a season when public singing has been relegated a little, for reasons of health and safety, this episode is an encouraging and inspiring reminder of the value of music and song in our journey of faith.

Now based in the Diocese of Plymouth, Tom’s links with CJM MUSIC go back many year to their first meeting at the Celebrate Conference, when his musical gifting was just beginning to come to the fore.

Tom is now a regular face in the line-up the CJM MUSIC collective, and released his first solo album, Open Door, back in 2017.

In this special episode Jo Boyce revisits the service that was broadcast live on BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Worship, on the morning of the beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman.

On Sunday 13th October, Blessed John Henry Newman will be canonised and become the first recognised English saint in close to 300 years. So it’s a perfect time to revisit the unforgettable day of his beatification in 2010.

The service is structured around four key themes: The Word, the Eucharist, Mary and Vocation.  Presented by Bernadette Kearney, it features reflections and the prayers inspired by some of the writings of Cardinal John Henry Newman himself.

Jo also shares some memories of her experience with CJM MUSIC at Cofton Park (in Birmigham, England) from the day of the Papal Mass and beatification.
