What?! Mike, Mel and Keith are throwing out double birds for this week’s episode. They are fired up and are sharing their favorite fuck you picks. They start off with chainsaws in their pockets for quite possibly the WORST song ever. They tear into the lyrics of this Joint pick and have a ton of fun killing a dead horse with the lyrics throughout the episode. Mike makes a mid-show change for his old school pick, Mel throws out a cover by a band for quite possibly one of the best “I’m done with you” songs, and Keith brings the show to a close with his genre bending pic that is sneaky in its eff you politeness. By the end of this episode, you’ll probably hate the Joint pick just as much as we do.
This wacky trio is at it again! This week, Mike, Keith and Mel are sharing their picks for funeral songs. Although the topic might be heavy, their antics and discussion is not. If anyone can make light of a funeral, it’s definitely these three. They come together for the Joint pick which a little dark and unexpected. It quickly goes south from there once they start picking apart the lyrics, 40,000 people… Next, Mel shares her choice for the old song, which leaves Mike and Keith both groaning. Keith saves the day with his new pick which Mike loves! And Mike finishes off this awkward viewing with his genre bender which leaves us all in a happier place. This episode finally dies off slowly with a lot of tears from laughter.
Ice Ice Baby didn't make this list. However, Mike, Mel and Keith do find some classic picks to perk up your nostalgic ears. Mike and Mel immediately derail this weeks episode with their own versions of the meaning behind the joint pick's title. Keith brings a blast from the past that will make your flagpole stand when no one is there to salute. Mike shares a new song that you should have heard but may not remember that you did. Mel's genre bender is just trash as usual. Well, that's Keith's opinion but Mike and Mel have other thought on the matter.
Mike, Mel and Keith are hitting the books for this week's research episode. They delve into songs that peak your curiosity and drive you to Google and Wikipedia. They kick off the show with a politically charged and still relevant classic banger for their joint pick. Mike finally discusses the song that started this podcast journey. Mel throws in waltz-y ditty by the Joker himself. Keith brings home the episode with his genre bending virtual pick.
Move Goliath here comes David. This week's episode celebrates the little guys on Spotify. Mel, Keith and Mike chose bands that had less than 5000 monthly listeners and the Joint Track this week had less than 55k monthly listeners. What these band lack in listens, they make up in really awesome tunes. Keith chose a track by a skinny white boy, Mel and Keith takes away Mike's metal fan card when he refuses to keep the Painfield Choo Choo Train on the track. And they learn the meaning behind Mel's genre bender!
Stop! Collaborate and Listen. Mike, Mel and Keith are back with a brand new edition .... of Music for the Messes. This week the gang is sharing their favorite collaborations between bands. They kick it off with a Metal/Hip-Hop joint song and lead into quite possibly the worst collab yet, maybe song. Thanks to Mel. Both Mike and Keith wish Tori was back for this episode. Keith keeps is fresh with his pick. Mike brings it home with a genre bender we didn't see coming.
No one’s hiding their eyes for this week’s episode. Mel, Keith and Mike have picked the songs that are their Guilty Pleasures. These songs are maybe not the best songs out there, but damn, they are catchy. No shame here! They kick off the episode with their Joint pick with an out of this world song choice by a presumable one hit wonder band. Mike's finger snapping pick rounds out our old category, Mel picks a cover song by a Soundcloud rapper (RIP) and Keith waxes philosophical and steps outside of our rock/metal genre with his favorite boy band song. Yes, you read that right. A boy band makes it on to our show. The guiltiest of pleasures!
Ladies and Gentlemen! Coming to the stage is this week’s Music for the Messes episode. Get your dollars ready as Keith, Mel and Mike share their favorite songs for this week’s topic, Strip Club Songs. These songs are anthems you’d expect to hear anytime you hit up the local titty bar. They kick it off with their Joint song by a skinny coke head that has all the things any good strip song should have a hip shaking groove, some kettlebell to get men all fired up and some really awful lyrics. Keith brings an oldie but a goodie to the stage for his pick, Mike shares a solid choice for the new pick and Mel creeps out both guys with her uncomfortable genre bending song.
Here comes the Bride! And she looks pissed because Mike, Keith and Mel have picked these four songs for the wedding playlist. Their choices are NOT what you want to have played at your wedding, but these three can care less. The Joint Pick is an oldie but a dang nasty good one by Primus. Pretty sure Granny would be shaking her head at Mel’s pick from Tenacious D. And Keith is sharing a song from Steel Panther that any groom who is thinking twice about marrying his woman. Mike finishes out this wedding fiasco with his genre bending pick which he actually played at his own wedding. Wait until you hear that story! Join these three wedding crashers for this week’s episode.
Like the old adage goes all good things must come to an end and for this episode, Mike, Keith and Mel choose their songs for what they think would be good TV series ending finale songs. They all agreed that the Joint Pick (puff, puff, pass) would be fitting of any TV show that has a hero walking off into the distance. Mike throws in an old school song that couldn’t be any better for a TV show that is a little on the bad side and Mel shares a new song that would definitely fit a TV series that would leave us all in tears. Of course, no episode is complete without the Genre Bender and Keith’s bringing it this week with his pick. Join these three for their usual silliness and you never know when Tori will show up.
