Eleanor Goldfield is the founder and lead singer of Rooftop Revolutionaries, a modern hard rock band from the LA underground rock scene. RR songs are full of political and social views, blending their progressive message with a heavy rock sound similar to that of Alice in Chains. Rooftop Revolutionaries released their second album, White.  Eleanor joins us this Friday from the nation's capital.

Kill My Coquette, fronted by actress-model turned punk musician Natalie  Densie Sperl, is the Los Angeles quartet armed with attitude and panache, boasting vital rock and punk with a twist of designer blues. MITRE is a singer, songwriter, and producer from Mexico City now living in Los Angeles and building a following in both English and Spanish in the US. Cylvia is  an LA-based pop-rock Indie band known for  high energy rock performances in LA clubs and underground warehouse raves.  Led by band founder, vocalist and  rhythm guitarist Zac Villa, the five men and two woman  combine singing, dancing and theatrics that has attracted a large and loyal following.  Their shows sell out,their tour starts soon, their debut EP is out now and Zac Villa and frontwoman Lindsay Claire join us this Friday.

Midnight North  is a Northern California –based band whose heartfelt rock & folk songs have a country feel,  tight vocal harmonies and a steady beat reminiscent of the Grateful Dead.  The Dead sound is not a coincidence; Midnight North’s founder, Grahame Lesh, is Grateful Dead guitarist Phil Lesh’s son. Midnight North’s  eponymous debut album, produced by band bassist Connor and Grahame and recorded with singer/songwriter Elliot Peck and drummer Eric Saar  in the redwood groves at In The Pocket Studios in Forestville, CA promises a long a successful career of original music. And they promise to join us this Friday.

Rayvon Owen began his music career  singing in choirs, touring with gospel artists and performing in local musicals. He moved to Nashville to perfect his skills in writing while performing at popular clubs and showcases in Music City. Influenced by artists like Lionel Richie, John Legend, Katy Perry, and Stevie Wonder he has developed his own voice as a performer and reflective songwriter.  He released his first single, and will kick off  a West Coast Tour 12/19/14 in Los Angeles.

Walter Strauss  is  a many layered musician who has developed  a  completely  unique guitar  style combining  ancient string instrument rhythms from West Africa and modern acoustic guitar picking and strumming – a very, very high level of skill..  He plays solo and with Mamajowali, a trio with Joe Craven and Mamadou Sidibe.  Strauss  has released two solo CDs, Planet Solitaire and Pulling Shadows,  and a new self-titled EP by  the Manajowali trio.

WE ARE TWIN.. Germany-raised Sri Lankan multi-instrumentalist and producer Nicholas Balachandran met New York-born and bred singer songwriter Gabi Christine during a 2009 songwriting session and the result was fifteen songs and WE ARE TWIN. In 2013 Zackary Smith (Bass, Keys, vocals) & Justin Frazier (drums) joint the group. The group just finished their debut album called "xtra love" release this November,  blazing a trail for a punk rock, soul & Pop aesthetic that stood out  immediately.  And they have a musical webisode series. We will talk about all of it this Friday.

LA-based three-man band, Willodean, chronicles longing, loneliness, and lost loves, Willodean is Dan Barrett,  Eric Holden and Randy Wooten. They have just released their self-titled debut album about people as afraid of finding love as losing it. With Dan Barrett’s gravelly baritone, Eric Holden’s upright bass that resonates with sturdy, near-ancient melodies and  guitarist/pianist Randy Wooten’s lyrics the evoke a dreamy world of misgiving and missed chances. Victoria Blythe combines jazz, folk and pop music into original songs in a style uniquely her own. This Award winning singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist's thrilling vocals have been compared to Alison Krauss, Joni Mitchell and Evanescence. Her song "Dancing with You" won the West Coast Songwriters Song of the Year award and has appeared in a number of movies and on TV. She performs solo and with her Americana band "Calaveras" which she founded with her partner Greg Beattie. She will join us thsi Friday

Polaris Rose is a Los Angeles Alt Rock duo comprised of Peter Anthony and Madelynn Elyse.  They emerged onto the LA scene in the Fall of 2013 with the release of their debut EP, "The Moon & its Secrets" and released their debut single, “Goddess” in February of this year. Their follow-up single,"Hurricanes" was followed by  “Ocean Songs” on April 22nd, 2014.  Following the release of their third single"OceanEnding", the band was voted ‘LA Artist of the Month’ on LA Deli Magazine. The duo’s debut full-length "Telescopes" is coming this November. The first single, “Perfect View” is currently available and we talk with them this Friday

Salvador Santana, the 29-year-old keyboardist, vocalist, composer and songwriter grew up with music.  His  grandfathers were blues pioneer Saunders King and violinist and  bandleader Jose Santana. His father is legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana,  with whom Salvador co-wrote the Grammy-winning “El Farol”,  from the  album Supernatural.Salvador began playing the drums at age 3, shifted to piano at  6, studying at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts and Cal Arts. His education, passion and lineage have turned him into a monster on the keys and great, positive rapper.  He joins us today at 11:30 am PT/2:30 pm ET on Music Friday

Portland-based The Bylines are grounded in a big-band past and a present of intricate  pop. They focus on grand live spectacle, but are equally at home in  jazz halls, large rooms and intimate venues. At The Bylines' core are two talents: frontwoman Marianna Thielen, the  face of the group with classical vocals and musical theater,  and her husband, Reece Marshburn,   master of  classical, jazz and pop piano. Depending on the project , they surround themselves with national level musicians who fill a venue with unique and infinitely enjoyable music. Natalie Gelman was a street performing NYC troubadour who won over hearts across the country with her music, soulful voice and dynamic songwriting. Alex Nester brings back the art of real,  live un-moduilated music-making with hot blues that makes you shake and shimmy and cool vocals that do a slow burn in your ears. A  bout with cancer as a teen has helped shape her unique sound filled with messages of love, faith, positivity, and healing while channeling the retro soul artists of the 60’s and 70’s. Her resume already includes 12 albums, countless jingles, and over 25 theatrical productions, as well as working with established musicians such as Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, The Fifth Dimension, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Desi Arnaz, Jr., Alphonse Mouzon, Brandon Fields, and Eric Marienthal.. Hana Kim is a Los Angeles-based  independent singer/songwriter.  Hana has established her musical chops since 2009, performing at prominent venues such as the Hotel Café, The Ford Amphitheatre, The Roxy Theater. She has perfromed internationally and was featured on the Paraguay’s national TV Network, Red Guarani.  She has opened for artists such as Ryan Cabrera, Sam Bradley, and Marty O’Reilly and is using her music to advocate awareness for injustices of human and sex trafficking. She joins us Friday with music and hope.
