For the next episode we sit down with AJA, an experimental electronic sound artist whose performances are unforgettable. Aja experiments with rhythmic noise, channeling intense and mostly improvised performances through her live hardware setup. Collaborating with designer LU LA LOOP, Aja's costumes are bright, pink, bold and unique, pretty much works of art. Active in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, AJA worked hard to put on Nottingham event 'Queer Noise Club'. I got the chance to chat to Aja about her musical identity and how this has evolved, chatting about the processes behind the costumes and live installations she performs with, along with how she has handled the lack of live events; her main musical outlet. Welcome to music gals. I am super excited to be here with the first episode of this series, where I am going to get the chance to sit down and chat to lots of incredibly talented and inspiring gals and non-binary working in the music industry, in order to offer support, inspiration and advice if you need it. In this episode I sit down with Grace Lee, an incredibly talented performer and songwriter. Grace's voice is powerful and unforgettable and her songs will touch your heart, and I am so happy to have her come on and talk about her pathway into music, her writing and recording process and her role in the band 'All Over Again'. I also got the chance to talk to Grace about finding things to post on social media in lockdown, and the woes of finding creativity when we aren't leaving the house.
