Cameron's favourite time of year has finally arrived... 

No not the time when you get to eat chocolate for breakfast and you get gifted a new jumper from your Aunt and Uncle that you will never wear, it's Spotify Wrapped of course!

On this Christmas themed 2nd Part of Music Is a Dead Scene's End of Year Special, Euan and Cameron dissect their listening habits and discover some painful truths, finally rounding everything off by counting down their choices for the best albums of the year. 

With this episode we bring to a close the short but sweet first Batch of the podcast. We want to thank all of you who have listened thus far and hope you'll join us again in the new year for Batch 2...

And so... here we are, nearing the end of the year, and nearing the end of Batch 1 of Music Is a Dead Scene - what a year it's been! 

In this episode Cameron and Euan chat about some of the music news this year has given us, remember some of the incredible musicians we've lost, and of course, dish out some of our very prestigious "MIADS Awards".

You can't handle the truth... that all of your favourite artists are thieves!

Not really, but the recent influx of music copyright lawsuits would certainly give that impression, with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars all going to trial to defend themselves from the dreaded plagiarism accusation.

Not to fear though, Music Is a Dead Scene is on the case!

Cameron and Euan use this episode to discuss the merits of these claims and the reasons why different music is always bound to have similarities, but doesn't necessarily indicate someone has stolen from the other...

Well, here we are.In only Episode 3 of Music Is a Dead Scene the monster of Music Streaming has already reared its ugly head.

Destined to be a main stay in our musical conversation for years to come, Euan and Cameron use this episode to dip their toes in on Music Streaming (predominantly Spotify), with the topics of discussion floating between artist pay, the streaming model itself and the growing backlash from acts big and small.

Cameron also has a controversial take that is bound to stir up musicians everywhere…

“How long is a long song?” I hear you ask. Good question!

From the ‘this could probably do with a radio-edit’ songs to the 20 minute behemoths (looking at you, Prog Rock), Cameron and Euan try to tackle that very topic in this episode of Music Is a Dead Scene.

They discuss the reasons why pop music is and benefits from being so short, and why the long songs that break those rules are some of the best of all time.
