Columbus musician Kelly Zullo chats with Music Journeys about her songwriting process and the major departure from that process for many of the songs on last fall's The Magic of Thinking release.

Columbus singer/songwriter TJ George created the non-profit Demand Impact, an organization dedicated to recovering lives through music. He's put together a star-studded lineup of musicians that include Michael McDonald, Bill Medley, Richard Page, and Bill Champlin - and it's the first set of what George plans to be multiple compilations to raise money for drug rehabilitation and recovery programs.

Bill Cohen joins Music Journeys ahead of his April 2 show to remind us how precious time is, and he performs some songs to reflect that.

This special Christmas edition of Music Journeys features Morgan James, who released A Very Magnetic Christmas last month. Among the ten soulful tracks are three original songs, co-written by James and her husband and collaborator Doug Wamble. James will also give us something to look forward to as well in a fun little segment at the end called Three for the Tree. She performs in Cincinnati Friday December 17.

Paul Carrack joins Music Journeys to reflect on his career and his latest release One on One. From Ace to Squeeze to Mike + The Mechanics, Carrack has been a part of some magical music. The 70-year-old talks about his humble beginnings, how Ace enjoyed soccer as much as music, the lasting power of songs like How Long and The Living Years, his lack of repair skills, and why he's okay with the fact that most people recognize the songs he's been a part of more than his name.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame held its 36th annual induction ceremony October 30 in Cleveland. Jack Marchbanks and I were there. Columbus native Gussie Miller has carved out quite a career working as a musician, producer, engineer, writer, and an audio engineer in the television and film industry. What sparked his interest and imagination can be traced back in large part to his high school days at Fort Hayes.

Blake Bergere and Nick Lorenz formed Bird and Byron after college, recording their first songs in 2020 and four more this year. The WonderBus Festival marks the duo's first live session in almost two years due to the pandemic. They talk about the inspiration for their new songs and in the spirit of WonderBus, which also shines a light on mental health, Bird and Byron share their own struggles and what's helped.
