Cody Parks is a Country Metal artist from Monroe Georgia. Cody got his start at a young age making himself known for his drumming and proceeded to expand on his musical abilities throughout the years. His journey to Nashville started with his annual trips to the NAMM shows with his dad. Cody and I discuss how he combined his love for country and metal into his new genre. This high school valedictorian went from brains to beats and moved to Nashville on an intuitional whim. Stephen Paul and I discuss his path going from full time student to cover band drummer to country artist Stephen Paul. Annalisa Rose is a singer songwriter from the mountains of Montana who took her love for country music from a young age to Nashville. Annalisa and I discuss her transition from from her ski career to becoming a full time musician. We also go into the struggle of being in a community where the competition can get hot and the challenge of starting all over in a city where everyone is after the same thing. Tyler Lessard is a sound engineer from Alabama. Tyler and I discuss his journey from worship, to blue grass competitions and how his experience at Trevecca Nazarene University lead him from Worship leader to sound engineer. We also discuss my favorite topic… FOOD! And how he got his current gig with up and coming country group “Muscadine Bloodline” and the importance of “showing up” and being available.  

Sarah Jones is a songwriter out of North Carolina who moved to Nashville after a short "sabbatical" in Wyoming for an artist residency.  She is a member of Priscilla Block's band as well as a co-writer on Just About Over You . Just About Over You  went number 1 on iTunes and discuss the backstory of the song as well as what it felt like seeing a song she co-wrote get pushed to radio  less than 4 months from the day they wrote it.  Sarah also gives her perspective on what it is like going from a being relatively unknown songwriter to getting an offer for her first publishing deal while a song she wrote was playing on radios across the country.

Timmy Brown Joins me this week! Timmy is a fellow New England Native who made the jump to Nashville after being inspired by his Grandmother. Timmy takes us through his story of how he got his start preforming live by singing over Karaoke backing tracks during his early shows before transitioning to acoustic sets. We also discuss how his artist career was launched after many trips to the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA where he would perform for tailgaters around the parking lot. Timmy also gives us an inside look about his experience on American Idol and how that helped him further develop as a performer.
