Welcome to the inaugural episode of the Music N' Misery Podcast! Three music-obsessed nerds, journalists, and (some) active musicians come together to talk hard rock, heavy metal, vinyl collecting, gig therapy, and the beautiful misery of being obsessed with riff-driven music.
Inspired by High Fidelity, and specifically the classic question of whether we listen to pop music because we're miserable, or if we're miserable because we listen to pop music, we expand this to rock, metal, and all the other genres we love and obsess about. We kick off Episode 1 by laying down our rules, breaking down our favorite album Track 3s, defending underappreciated 90s rock records, and reviewing recent heavy gigs across London.
Meet Your Hosts:- Kahmel Farahani: Iranian-American Londoner raised on American TV, veteran rock and metal journalist (MetalTalk, TotalRock), lover of 70s classic rock, sleaze, and heavy industrial chugs.
- Pav Salgado: Colombian-born Londoner, guitarist (Looking for Droids, Guns 2 Roses), gig reviewer (Decibel Report), and hard rock / heavy metal vinyl collector.
- Bogdan Bele: Transylvanian-Romanian Cambridgeshire-based tech and heavy metal writer (MetalTalk), concert addict, and master of the meanest G chord in the UK.
