The modern symphony orchestra contains four main sections: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.  

 string family   =     violin, viola, cello, double bass.

  The brass family  = trumpet, French horn, trombone, and the tuba.  

woodwinds           =  flute , oboe , clarinet and  bassoon.
