  • McKenna Stenson and Kyra Stahr

    Kyra Stahr (she/her) and is currently a first-year graduate student at The University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where she is pursuing a Master of Music in Choral Music. Stahr is a graduate of Miami University, where she was a double major, earning her B.M. in Music Education and Vocal Performance, and a dual minor in Special Education and Musical Theater. At Miami, she studied conducting with Dr. Jeremy Jones and Dr. William Bausano and led an inclusive choir for adults with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. Stahr graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the "Outstanding Future Music Educator" honor for the class of 2017.

    As an innovative conductor, teacher and vocalist, McKenna Stenson has built a career inspiring students to sing with confidence and motivating communities to create lasting change through song. Her energetic demeanor permeates positivity throughout the ensemble, creating a community of compassion, trust and resilience.

    Estela’s ample experience in music entrepreneurship is often sought-out by podcasts, music programs, and conference panels, including the Oklahoma State Trumpet Studio, the Shenandoah University Music Entrepreneurship program, the BrassChix annual gathering, the Denis Wick Artist Summit, the TMEA – Mouthpiece Neophobia panel, the Denis Wick Women in Brass panel, the Diversify the Stand podcast and the Musician’s Perspective podcast. She is also a member of the International Trumpet Guild Inclusion and Diversity Committee, where she is an agent of change supporting equality.

    Originally from Lima, Peru, Estela now resides in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, with her fiancée and husky. She holds a Master in Trumpet Performance degree from the University of South Carolina School of Music and a Bachelors of Music and Trumpet Performance degree from the University of Tampa. Her former instructors include Aric Brian, James Ackley, and Allen Vizzutti.

  • Estela Aragon

    Estela Aragon (she/her) is a trumpet instructor, entrepreneur, masterclass artist, and performer. She is the founder, educator, and owner at TrumpetHeadquarters.com and MusicFitAcademy.com, two different trumpet programs with the missions of teaching the trumpet to students of all ages and experience levels well-founded pedagogical approaches and methods. She has spent her post-graduate school years researching trumpet pedagogy, teaching, and innovating.

    An ambassador for the art of education, Estela maintains a full-time private trumpet studio through Music Fit Academy, a lesson program driven by athletic thinking, where pupils “workout” to achieve their highest potential. In 2018, she founded the Trumpet Headquarters to serve the trumpet community with an extensive lineup of complementary resources. The website included the THQ Trumpet Lessons Online course, recognized achievement in quality online trumpet education. Today, she is honored to be a preliminary judge for the National Trumpet Competition and a music mentor for the International Women’s Brass Conference.
