First Track of our New Playlist the Last Man. The last man (German: Letzter Mensch) is a term used by the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche in Thus Spoke Zarathustra to describe the antithesis of his theorized superior being, the Übermensch, whose imminent appearance is heralded by Zarathustra. Person who only gives “I’m alive” as a reason for living and finds no pleasure in suffering for the goal of self-mastery (such as an impeccable work performance) or great art to share their own interpretative meaning of existence.
