When we saw this tiny blonde with a powerful voice and incredible stage presence open for Jack Ingram at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, TX, we knew we had to have her on the podcast! We finally caught up with her in Vegas during the NFR, and we were not disappointed. She is as sweet and kind as we knew she would be!

Perhaps her first words were not even spoken but likely sang. Billie Jo Jones started singing as soon as she could talk. This singer/songwriter is known for blending traditional country music with her own, unique style and attitude.

Raised in Emory, TX, this proud native was destined for stardom from a very early age. Billie Jo shares, “I was putting on private concerts for my grandparents who raised me in their living room when I was 4-5 years old! They would sit and watch me for hours and clap for me after every song. I would perform a variety of songs from Shania Twain to the Dixie Chicks to Patsy Cline to Ray Price to Loretta Lynn. I have always loved old country.”

Olivia, is the Daughter of Western Music Hall of Fame member Joni Harms, she grew up on the family ranch in Canby, OR. but she has traveled the world with her mother literally since birth. Olivia's first appearance on stage was when she was just two days old. Joni had labor induced so she wouldn’t miss her show at the Portland Speedway with Clint Black, Lorrie Morgan, and Ricky Skaggs. Now Olivia is following in her mother's creative bootsteps and chasing the same dream.

Olivia cut her first album of original songs at the tender age of 16. It took another 16 years before she would cut her 2nd album. But in that time she finished high school, and college and covered a lot of country. Spending time in Nashville as a songwriter and then moving full-time to Texas to hone her touring and performing skills. Now armed with a lifetime of experience and a Hall of Fame Mentor, Olivia has developed her own unique style and sound of Country Western Honky Tonk! We only scratched the surface of Gary's amazing 40 plus year career during this interview. There's at the very least, a couple more hours of stories to tell. We didn't really get the chance to discuss him producing the soon to be released Heath Clark album. Hope you can wait a little longer to hear "The Rest of The Story" we promise to get more in the near future, enjoy this episode for now.

Singer-songwriter Cory Wooldridge is a former saddle bronc rider, cowboy and musician that is making a name for himself in the Texas music scene after playing every restaurant, saloon, steakhouse and bar he could to get a foot in the door. No stranger to hard work, he got busy making connections anywhere he could. Born in Enid, Oklahoma in a rodeo and music family, Cory was bound to rodeo or be on stage. Moving back and forth between Oklahoma, Wyoming and Colorado, Cory found himself settling down in north Texas in 2021, after retiring from the rodeo circuit to pursue his other passion, music.

We got an email from Cory introducing himself while we were in Vegas during the NFR. Cory said he was a fan of the Musical Miles Podcast and that he would be in town doing some other interviews that week. Naturally we love meeting new to us Artists so we extended the invitation to sit down with us at the Westgate. We hope you enjoy our visit with him.

Beni Paulson rode bulls for 15 years and reached the pinnacle of his sport when he competed at the Professional Bull Riders World Finals. He was North Dakota's first bull rider to quality for the event.

Having mastered one profession, Paulson is now mastering another; the world of contemporary country music.

We met Beni in Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo, where it seems to be  the gathering place for not only rodeo fans but music lovers as well. Many of whom are current or former rodeo competitors who have hedged their bets and developed their guitar playing and performing skills for a career after rodeo.

You might say Heath Owens has country in his genes! As the Great grandson of the Legend Buck Owens, this talented young artist shows a little bit of that Bakersfield sound in his music. Although Influenced by his Great Grandfather Buck as well as Heath's own Grandfather, Heath and his band are developing their distinct style of alt-country. Drawing influence from old school country, southern rock and 90's punk and even a little bit of jazz mixed in with some modern country their sound is finding an audience. They are rapidly becoming a staple of the Southern Idaho music scene.

Justin Lawrence is not your typical California kid. He grew up in Visalia, where his family was involved in training and showing Reined Cowhorses. He cut his teeth in the horseshow/rodeo world doing it all. From steer wrestling  tie-down roping, team roping to riding broncs as well as showing cutting horses.

While at the World Show in Stephenville, TX with his family, 14 year old Justin bought his first guitar at the local Tractor Supply. And that's where his self taught journey to master the instrument began. With a love of music, dedication and the desire to learn the Classic Tom Russel tune "Tonight we ride" he has honed his skill of guitar playing and performing into a full-time gig.

Singer-songwriter Carson Jeffrey is a full-time, authentic to the core Cowboy and a part-time musician that Texans just can’t get enough of. During the week, the Cat Spring rancher disconnects completely from the music world, opting instead to fill his days building barns, fixing fences, mowing pastures and roping calves. When the weekend comes he converts to a road warrior playing more than 100 shows a year throughout the Southern region. Carson regularly sells out college bar mainstays like The Tap in College Station and The Blue Light in Lubbock. The 25-year old, Texas A&M grad released his third album, Fair Weather Cowboy on November 18, 2022. The ten track record gives fans a deeper glimpse into this cowboy’s soul. He penned every song showcasing themes about growth, loneliness, and letting loose. Fans can hear the new project "Fair Weather Cowboy” now on all streaming platforms.

Jaden Hamilton made the leap from High School to the big time in Nashville. But things don't always turn out like we want! From a record and publishing deal to back to cowboying to make a living in just a matter of a couple of years. This talented singer/songwriter knows what he wants and he knows the only way to get it is to work hard!

We only spent a short amount of time with Jaden where he was performing at the Westgate Hotel and Casino during the NFR in Vegas, but we found out pretty quick just how talented he is.
