Im Herbst 2024 hat das Kollaborative Museum einen Open Call veröffentlicht, um Fellowships zu vergeben. Zwei der drei ausgewählten Fellows waren im Sommer 2025 in Berlin, beide beforschen die Sammlungen des Ethnologischen Museums, beide arbeiten mit Diaspora Communitys in Berlin, also mit Gruppen von Menschen, die ihre Migrationsgeschichte verbindet. Die Details waren dann allerdings schon unterschiedlich. Bei Samuel Baah Kortey aus Ghana ging es um die Schwarze Diaspora und Kämme in den Sammlungen des Ethnologischen Museums. Nhi Duong forschte über die vietnamesischen Diasporas in Berlin, wie sich ihre Musik unterscheidet und sie zusammenbringt.

Duong Doan Tuyet Nhi (Nhi Duong) arbeitet als Kulturmanagerin in Ho-Chi-Minh-Stadt, Vietnam, und interessiert sich besonders für die Schnittstellen von Anthropologie, Indigenem Wissen, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und Kunst. In ihrer Arbeit kombiniert sie Ethnografie mit unkonventionelleren Herangehensweisen wie Kunstführungen oder Exkursionen, bei denen die Teilnehmer nicht nur als Betrachterinnen, sondern als Mitgestaltende agieren.
Samuel Baah Kortey ist ein multidisziplinärer Künstler aus Ghana, dessen Werk sich mit den sichtbaren Ausprägungen befasst, die Städte, historische Artefakte und globale Begegnungen charakterisieren. Er ist Absolvent der Hochschule für Bildende Künste–Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main und der KNUST – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana (Malerei und Bildhauerei). 2023 war er Stipendiat der Villa Romana.

In autumn 2024, the Collaborative Museum published an open call for fellowships. Two of the three selected fellows were in Berlin in summer 2025, both researching the collections of the Ethnological Museum, both working with diaspora communities in Berlin, i. e. with groups of people connected by their migration history. However, the details differed. Samuel Baah Kortey from Ghana focused on the Black diaspora and combs in the collections of the Ethnologisches Museum. Nhi Duong researched the Vietnamese diasporas in Berlin, how their music differs and how it brings them together.

Duong Doan Tuyet Nhi (Nhi Duong) is a cultural worker and organiser based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, interested in the intersections between anthropology, Indigenous knowledge, outreach and art. Her practice combines ethnography with unconventional approaches, such as art tours or field trips that position participants as co-creators rather than observers.
Samuel Baah Kortey is a multidisciplinary artist from Ghana whose work traverses the visible expressions that characterise cities, historical findings, and global encounters. Samuel Baah Kortey is a graduate of Hochschule für Bildende Künste–Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and KNUST – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana (Dept. of Painting & Sculpture). He was a 2023 Villa Romana Fellow.
