National Tree Day was held on Sunday the 30th of July 2017 and since its inception, it is estimated that more than 3.8 million people in Australia have planted almost 23 million trees and plants. Community Connect’s Sandy Al-Aweik reported on a local tree planting event hosted by the City of Canterbury-Bankstown at Band Hall Reserve in Birrong. She also talked about some of the benefits of trees.

The sin leaves a trace in the heart of the doer as was narrated in the books of hadith. The Prophet, peace be upon him, told us that when a believer commits a sin, then this sin would leave a black dot on his heart. If one repents from that sin then his heart would be cleansed from it, however, if one commits more sins, then this black dot would expand until it covers all his heart.

Thabit Al-Bunaniy - The Righteous Believer

Ramadan was a great chance for us to achieve higher ranks. Sheikh Ibrahim El-Shafie begins the lesson speaking about being steadfast after Ramadan then talks about the great steadfastness of Thabit Al-Bunaniy. Thabit was from the second century of the Salaf and is one of the followers of the companions who filled his life with acts of obedience. He was one of those who was gifted prayer in his grave and he had fulfilled all the obligations.
