Lea: Dear listeners, here we have with us Nia Doner and Andi from the Indonesian Health Committee attending the commemoration held by the Muslim Women’s Welfare of Australia, good afternoon Nia Doner.
Nia: Thank you for inviting us to attend the commemoration of International Women’s Day.
Lea: Nia Doner, in the event of Muslim Women’s Welfare of Australia to commemorate the International Women’s Day, what is the meaning of ‘Be Bold For Change’ to you?
Nia: The change I would like to do from this event is to be brave, show that we have Islam as our Religion and as women we do not have to be worried and have fear to not to show the world of being a Muslim. Our background is Indonesian who live in Australia. So do not worry and be out there to show that we are Indonesian women, we have pride and fear no more of what others think.
Lea: And for Andi, what is the meaning of ‘Be Bold For Change’ to you?
Andi: As I am working in the Health Committee, I urge people not to be scared to live a healthy life of the Australian and Indonesian lifestyle. To have a healthy child as an Indonesian woman, a housewife and mother, we do not have to be worried to adopt the healthy lifestyle of Australia.
Lea: Dear listeners, I also have Elita from Pimia with us. Elita what is the meaning of ‘Be Bold For Change’ to you?
Elita: ‘Be Bold For Change.’ Many of us as a woman, we wait until the opportunity comes to us. However, this is now a time for us to move on and be brave to do something. For example, when I am with the some Indonesians in the Muslim community, I have the intention to spread the information of the activities of the Indonesian Muslim Community here.
Lea: From each VIP that gave the speech today, which speech that really touch you the most?
Elita: What impressed the most is the speech about the mother. Our life, our success is from the support of our own mother.
Lea: Nia Doner, what can you tell us?
Nia: I was impressed by the speech about Ummi. That is also part of ‘Be Bold For Change.’ Where the child would appreciate the mother. It shook my heart to see a child who really loves her mom.
Lea: What about you Andi?
Andi: I saw from the speaker from the Immigration Department, Family and Community Services, who looked like they all support this event. And it looks like this event is not an ordinary event, it is really something that makes us proud as a Muslim woman of Australia.
Lea: Thank you for your time talking with Warna Warni Indonesia.
Thank you so much Lea and good afternoon.
