Elder Abuse, We Reject.

Elder Safety, We Protect.

2MFM is launching an eye-opening media campaign that aims to help the community understand, prevent and respond to the various forms of elder abuse .

Elder abuse is any act of causing harm to an older person, and it is usually carried out by someone they know and trust.

Abuse is usually intentional. The harm caused to an older person may range from verbal harassment through to serious physical injury inflicted deliberately. Abuse can also include emotional harm and financial loss including the loss of a home and belongings.

Other forms of Elder abuse include: sexual abuse, and neglect. No elderly person should be subjected to any form of abuse.

The abuser may be:

• a son or daughter

• a grandchild

• a partner

• any other family member

• a friend; or even

• a neighbour.

In the first episode of the 2MFM Elder Abuse media campaign , Hajjah Faten discusses the following topics : who commits elder abuse (who are the abusers, and what are the types of elder abuse.

إن إساءة معاملةِ المسنين هي أي فعل يتسبب في إلحاق الأذى بكبار السن ، وعادة ما يحصل من شخص يعرفه المسن ويثق به.

فقد قد يكون المعتدي: • ابنا أو ابنةً ، حفيدا أو شريكا أو أي فرد آخر من أفراد الأسرة اوحتى صديق؛ او جار

عادة تكون الإساءةُ مقصودةً وقد يتراوح الضرر الذي يلحق بكبار السن بين المضايقة اللفظية إلى الإصابة الجسدية الخطيرة التي تحدث عمدا.

يمكن أن تشملَ الإساءةُ أيضًا الأذى العاطفي والخَسارة المالية بما في ذلك فقدان المنزل والممتلكات.

تشمل الأشكالُ الأخرى لإساءةِ معاملة المسنين: الاعتداء الجنسي ، والإهمال.

تطلق إذاعة الجالية الإسلامية حملة إعلامية تهدف إلى مساعدة المجتمع على فهم ومنع وكذلك الاستجابة لمختلف أشكال إساءة معاملة المسنين.

ترقبوا برنامج خبر ووجهة نظر لمعرفة كيفية التعامل مع هذه المشكلة الاجتماعية المنتشرة.

تذكر أنه لا ينبغي أن يتعرض شخص مسن لأي شكل من أشكال الإساءة.

لا لإساءة الى كبار السن ومعا لحمايتهم

One of prophet Jesus’s followers was named Jurayj. He was very pious. He adhered to the teachings of prophet Jesus. He believed that Allah is the only one to worship. He performed the obligations , refrained from committing sins and performed optional acts of worship.

Hajjah Faten narrates his story and the karamah Allah blessed him with.

Nora Awad, a sustainability enthusiast, joined the AM Drive Time team in an interview where she shared tips for being sustainable at home. We also explored how Nora got started on her sustainability journey and her inspiration, as well as how it assisted her through the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising cost of living.
