Josh and James survive the great garbage avalanche of 2505 and emerge from their pods to discuss the 2006 film, Idiocracy. It's going to get rough, and Josh and James profusely apologize for the language used throughout the podcast. Aside from that, James and Josh will discuss the way this movie calls out consumerism and anti-intellectualism and how frighteningly close to home a lot of this movie hits. In Awards Season, there will be repeated cop-outs by both James and Josh, and Frito takes home plenty of awards.

Everyone on campus was listening to it. "Must Have Missed It" was the common expression after two weeks. And the podcast was the biggest thing on a campus that included 19 Nobel laureates, 15 Pulitzer prize winners, 2 future Olympians and a movie star. 
 
Who's the movie star? 
 
That's a spoiler, which you won't get here, but it will be spoiled, and there will be adult content. 
 
Josh and James click the Forgot Password button and go fully Social Media to discuss the semi-biographical story of the founding of Facebook and various subsequent lawsuits: David Fincher's 2010 film, The Social Network. James ponders the necessity of the film (pretty meta for a film about social media (heh, meta)), and Josh attempts to justify both its importance and its existence (the movie, not social media). It's hit or miss. In Awards Season, Erica Albright gets significantly more podcast runtime than movie screentime, and maybe it's not really a quarterback league after all? IYKYK. 
 
You know, you really don't need a forensics team to get to the bottom of this. If you guys were the inventors of Must Have Missed It, you'd have invented Must Have Missed It.

It's No Country for Old Men, and it's Must Have Missed It, so it goes without saying this is no podcast for young ears (or anyone worried about spoilers). 
 
Must Have Missed It is back! Josh and James return from a LOOOOOOOONG hiatus to delve into the Coen brothers 2007 neo-western thriller, No Country for Old Men. It's the Anton Chigurh Appreciation Festival! Or, it will be if James has his way. Josh and James are blown away by the way the movie makes use of a lack of music, Josh makes sure to show some love to Roger Deakins' incredible cinematography, and James can't deal with Garret Dillahunt. Also, James loses his notes, and Josh notes that not everyone who died on the Death Star was a Space Nazi. It will make more sense in context. In Awards Season, Josh points out an absolutely bizarre performance, James adds to his all-male movie cast, and there's consensus on a John C. Reilly Award for the first time in history! (Probably. No one's going to actually fact check that.) 
 
You can't stop what's coming. Must Have Missed It's not waitin' on you. That's vanity.

You hearsay. You don't see-say. So I say, f%$k Must Have Missed It. 

This podcast contains some unscrupulous sh!t, like spoilers and adult content and drunken rambling. 

Josh and James drink entirely too much of the most American liquor, bourbon, and talk about the most American movie genre, Westerns, discussing the 2021 Netflix original film The Harder They Fall. It's going to get interesting. James is shocked to learn about The Bullitts' relationship to a 90s pop star and even breaks out in song... a few times.  Josh and James discuss the film's heavy themes of revenge and cycles of violence, but still find plenty of laughs in the film's comedic relief. In Awards Season, an overlooked character gets their due, James relates his personal journey to a specific character arc, and Josh points out the lack of female characters in James's movie cast. Where my Mamet-heads at?

Whenever any bank robbery took place, Must Have Missed It was in Texas. Unless, of course, the robbery took place in Texas.

Once upon a time, when the woods were young, they were home to creatures who were full of magic and wonder.

And once upon a time, when this podcast was young, it was home to content that was adult and contained spoilers. As it was, so it will always be.

Josh and James follow the fairy into the maze and try to navigate Pan's Labyrinth, Guillermo del Toro's Academy Award-winning 2006 adult fantasy film. Adult fantasy as in the genre of fantasy for adults, not as in... Anyway, Josh and James discuss the brutality of the violence in this historically-set fairy tale and give props to the costuming and makeup professionals for the truly stunning character design of the Faun. In Awards Season, Josh and James confront their director-centric bias for the MVP Award before James crowns the youngest-ever MVP in the history of the podcast. Meanwhile Josh repeatedly chooses multiple winners for his awards, while James tries to figure out how he even feels about this movie. 

They said that when Must Have Missed It finished recording in the studio, they smashed their watches on a rock so that the world would know the exact hour and minute of their runtime.

Everything is a mythical cosmic battle between faith and chance.

That said, there's more than a chance that this podcast contains spoilers, and you can have faith that there will be plenty of adult content.

Josh and James put on their saddest 'fugee faces and sneak into prison to discuss Children of Men, Alfonso Cuaron's 2006 dystopian action thriller/social commentary. James plugs The Kitchen like he has a financial stake in it, while Josh says "The Human Project" a LOT and repeatedly criticizes a CGI baby. In Awards Season, James goes outside the box for Favorite Character, Syd is unanimously awarded Toughest Hang, and a second two-time MVP is crowned.

A hundred years from now, there won't be one sad f$%k to listen to any of this, but just try not to think about it.

It's all about sacrifice, right?

Much like all the zombies in this movie, the content of Must Have Missed It is adult. There will also be spoilers, because this is a podcast where two people talk about movies.

Josh and James stamp their tickets and hop on board to discuss the 
2016 South Korean zombie sensation, Train to Busan. In a truly bizarre turn of events, JAMES is the person who has seen this movie, and Josh is the guy without a clue! Don't miss it, because this may never happen again. Josh and James strongly critique the shoddy CGI work and lament how those resources could have been better spent, and James has harsh words for "film critic" Kevin Jagernauth. There is also a lot of train geography confusion. In Awards Season, Song Hwa gets all the love (as anyone could have predicted), there are a pair of great John C. Reilly selections, and a fecal homunculus wins big. They're running out of poop-related jokes.

They're magicians, your Honor. Men who live by dressing up plain and simple truths to shock, to amaze.

Don't be shocked when you hear adult content and spoilers! It's part of the magic of Must Have Missed It.

Josh and James put on their top hats and power on the Tesla machine to pull back the curtain on The Prestige, Christopher Nolan's 2006 turn-of-the-century magician-rivalry psychological sci-fi thriller. That's a genre, right? James feels obligated to point out how disgusting the concept of handkerchiefs is, Josh feels obligated to point out that he was a Christopher Nolan fan before it was cool, and the guys give an impassioned plea to anyone struggling with mental health issues to remember that they aren't alone and help is out there. Josh will also repeatedly get the name of "The Transported Man" incorrect. In Awards Season, Robert Angier will be compared to Littlefinger for reasons that you wouldn't expect, Alfred Borden's taste in women will be validated in Coolest Hang, and Christopher Nolan will be heaped with praise for the masterpiece that is The Prestige. It's definitely better than Interstellar!
