“What we’ve got here is a systems problem.” Americans honor brave whistleblowers and serious investigative journalists who  reveal covered up truths. But according to today’s guest Professor Lawrence Davidson, in his article on CounterPunch, the fate of the very controversial Julian Assange is tied to the fate of journalism itself. The dominance of information distortion is frightening, he says. The truth, ugly or not, is necessary for freedom and democracy.  Wikileaks is merely a supplier of evidence. Will there be a robust free press again as our founders demanded?
