Montreal's Parts Project brings the next release on Juncture Music with his Dreamerz EP. Leveraging the practical limitations of performing with a simple live hardware setup, he finds new ways of breathing energy and movement into the experience, while remaining connected with his audience. Exploring this challenge and finding new techniques has been the foundation of Parts Project, all of which can be heard on this EP.

These pieces are more melodic than his previous work. They were first constructed with melody and mood, with the rest built around that. They are reflective and nostalgic, tracing the isolated, urban experience, while maintaining an uncompromising energy throughout.

If you attended Mutek in 2022 you may have heard versions of these tracks performed live. Now fully realised in the form of an EP, Dreamerz is an immense contribution to the Juncture Music catalogue.

The Sun, that magical star that provides energy and vitality, aims to hide from us and disappear during the long, dark winter times. Perhaps all things in the universe need a break and maybe that's why it is lost during this period. But just a little frame of time, cause he always come back to shine more than ever.

Fronted by Bradley Lucke and Mark Crooks, UK collective Statues has definitely established in the MM Discos family signing the last release by doing a very special tribute to the sun.

"Lost Star EP" is lysergic, melancholic and dreamy. Starting far away, light years away from us with the cosmic, repetitive and ascending rhythms of "Conney Island".

"Lost Star", the EP's title track, constantly pursues that dreamy feeling proposed in the first track, although it escapes into a much more organic but equally psychedelic terrain.

The EP takes a break and lowers the tempo a little with "The Becoming", taking it towards areas where "the ambient" is the protagonist, how proud Brian Eno would be about it. Closing the EP "Club Love", pure balearica-psychodelia.

„Mantra“ stands for the essence of electronic music and the deep passion JOIX always is driven by. For this release, six artists created their very own interpretation of „Mantra“.

Køps‘ Remix uses similar elements of the original track from 2015 and transforms it into a minimalistic micro funk tune with nice broken beats and deep basses.

Freund der Familie welcomes Even Drones onto the imprint with their debut album, entitled ‘Ethics’ and comprised of twenty original compositions from the Berlin based duo.

Freund der Familie : ‘’After two decades of releasing music on 12“ vinyl under multiple pseudonyms the duo from Even Drones have completed their first LP. The 20-track double vinyl carries the classic “album era" approach of the 60s and 70s into a modern contemporary work. Each of the 4 sides of „Ethics“ feels like the chapter of a story balanced into a synthesis of counterpoints from piece to piece.

Twisted arrangements are stringed together with dance-able tracks and woven into finespun transmutations of sounds. Sometimes peaceful and regulated, sometimes abstract and complemented with tamed feedback, noises, crackling and delightful patterns. Like a continuous thread through all titles of the album, the multi-instrumentalists somehow managed to harmonize a twisted array of methods and structures into a coherent listening experience. This full feature-length metamorphosis with no boundaries of styles or genres is released just in time for the 10th anniversary of the band on Freund der Familie releases.’’

Wreaking beauty from chaos, das SPEZIAL heralds the start of an expansive new EP series, KIDS.

Shahab Notghi’s open-ended collaborative art project doesn’t adhere to a staid formula - it’s an electrical mass of infinite possibilities which brings accomplished virtuosos and breakthrough talents alike into its orbit. The end results are towering, monumental works - earnest songs at their core, but draped in vivid sonic finery to fill even the

widest open space.

Notghi is the engine driving SPEZIAL forwards, spurred on by his relentless pursuit of innovation and true musical expression. This project builds on his years spent entrenched in electronic music, losing himself in the tangled signal paths and control voltages of his studio and now channelling that experience into something much bigger than one person.

The KIDS series began with a flashpoint of an idea - a chance meeting in a suburban shop with a studio in the basement. That’s where Notghi met Hannah Eve Kilgore, the schoolgirl with a voice well beyond her years who breathes honest humanity into the tracks on KIDS#1. In a spontaneous, swift recording session, Kilgore laid down

her songs and gave Notghi the jump-off point to start building his own snaking, brooding electronics around the vocals.

In pursuit of a sound beyond compare, Notghi went in search of the finest engineers to help him realise his vision and arrived at Steve Dubs of The Chemical Brothers fame and Ewan Pearson - a mixing wizard with an eye-watering list of credits to his name. Pearson suggested the SPEZIAL sound needed to widen in scope and all roads led to acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Stew Jackson, a pillar of Bristol’s music community with time spent in the likes of Massive Attack amongst countless other projects. Now a regular fixture in the SPEZIAL process, there’s never any brief for Jackson to work with, just embryonic pieces in which to weave any array of instruments he sees fit.

From there the path only deepens as Notghi shapes and moulds the SPEZIAL sound - hours spent lost in tape loops, patched into modulation, throwing sounds around and contorting them like they were plasticine, but always with that fundamental song beating away amidst the wild experimentation. Possibility lurks around the corner of every sequence on KIDS#1, and it’s a thread which UK electronic polymath Daniel Avery responds to intuitively on his remix of ‘Castles’. Expanding the track’s cinematic sound, his is a haunting version populated by celestial synth sweeps and slow-marching drums. Like every track before it, it bristles with chance while retaining a sharp sense of what works and where to take things further out - a guiding principle of the seemingly chaotic process that is das SPEZIAL.

“Run it Back” is a simple and dry tune, has those big cutting edge sounds typical of the early 2000 80's contaminated electro.. perfect for your starting set or in recreating that unique atmosphere.

On the A side follows “Half Way Trough”, an effortlessly driving tech-acid house tune, strangely compelling, with a timeless feeling.. looking like an essential weapon for any dancefloor.

B side starts with the spicy electro-disco tune “Over The Machines” epic and functional at the same time with evocative arpeggios and a mechanical vocodered speach.

The Ep ends with the cyberfunk stomper "Revolution" , a twisted electro funk groover in typical Minimono vein.

Fabio Della Torre and Ennio Colaci celebrate this 50th.5 release on Bosconi in great style, remodernising the sound that they used to like when they first met in the early 2000, under the influence of those Berlin labels like Areal, Sender, Festplatten, Funkhaus, Beautycase, Lasergun, Gigolo.. and all of those labels who trademarked the sound of those unforgettable Berlin days.
