19 June 2016 – Blair Courtney-O’Connor speaks to us about interpreting Daniel’s vision in the book of Daniel 11 & 12.

Many of us are keen to know what the future holds. Where do we look for answers? Surely we go to those who have a track record in successfully predicting the future. History has shown that the visions of Daniel inspired by God actually came to pass.

Daniel predicts that in the final times the Antichrist will come and seek to take control of the world. Scripture assures us that when Christ returns He will destroy the Antichrist. Those who trust God will shine like the brightness of the heavens. Eternal life is guaranteed!

5 June 2016  Blair Courtney O’Connor gives us insights into Daniel 9: 22-27.

What would happen if your views of the future were changed? How would you live your life? Would you do it differently?

In this passage Daniel describes to the Israelites, who were in exile in Babylon, his vision of their future. He speaks of the coming of God’s Heavenly Kingdom. Daniel explains the ‘seventy sevens’ – the 490 years ahead of them – Israel’s return to Jerusalem, the rebuilding of the temple, the arrival of the Messiah and His sacrifice, then war, and then deceit and destruction wrought by the antichrist.

We have a future in God’s Kingdom when we give our lives to Jesus and give glory to God.

29 May 2016  John Reid shares what Daniel teaches about how we should pray – Daniel 9: 1 – 21

There are many parallels between the Jews in exile in Daniel’s time and our church today. We are captive to the forces of evil, we live lives in guilt and shame, and are often scorned by society.

Daniel’s prayer shows us how we should pray:

Start with the scripture – the word of God is the anchor for our lives.

Recognize that when God makes a covenant with His people He delivers – He is faithful!

We need to confess our sins and seek God’s forgiveness.

Give glory and honour to God. We can trust Him with our future.

22 May 2016 – Guest Preacher Bob Mendelssohn from the Jews for Jesus organization gives a pointed explanation as to how easy it is to miss the many Old Testament passages which tell of the true nature of the coming Messiah and why the Jewish people did not recognise Jesus of Nazareth as the fulfilment of those many prophesies.   Despite their rigourous scriptural teaching, the Jew still cannot see the plain truth that Jesus is the Messiah.  Bob explains that once we see the truth we can never not it!  Bob encourages us to talk with our Jewish friends and share the life changing message of Jesus.

15 May 2016 – Blair Courtney O’Connor gives us insights into Daniel’s visions of the future found in Daniel 8, written around 550 BC. The events foretold in Daniel’s prophecies can be seen to unfold in the region over the next 400 years.  When we see the big picture we realise that God is in control of history and we can have confidence in our future because we know that God will ultimately be victorious and fulfil the promises made to those who trust in him.

08 May 2016 – In the context of Daniel 7, Rev. John Reid challenges us to consider where we find our certainty?  Are we worried by the futility of human force and the reality of present sadness?  Do we hope for evil’s destruction and value living life in the present? The Bible teaches that God will make order of our earthly chaos and send Jesus Christ to establish his eternal Kingdom.  God desires an everlasting relationship with us that will not be disrupted by pain, suffering, sorrow or death.
