It was an absolute privilege to engage in an open conversation with Thomas Devlin about his Chapter, My Ancestors Aren't Happy With Me. I recently attended an incredible pop-up art exhibition (My Ancestors Aren't Happy With Me) in Shepparton and my personal experience was one I found difficult to fully describe in words. It was cathartic, inspiring, thought-provoking, emotional, and deeply moving. This was Thomas's exhibition and I was deeply curious about his narrative.
During this conversation, Tom generously shares the journey of his exhibition, the inspiration, his childhood, travels, passions, cultural disconnect, and much more. Throughout the conversation, there were numerous thought-provoking points; however, one that stood out was, his colour choice (red, white, and black) for the paintings.
A huge thanks to Tom and everyone else that will engage with this conversation. Feel free to share it with those that may resonate. 😊
