My Beloved Athena by Robert F. Duwel is a book that appeals to both men and women. The children of Tony and Athena Davenport find it difficult to understand the depth of grief that Tony feels for his "beloved Athena". After much prodding Tony tells his daughter the story of their love. The daughter is surprised at how many questions are answered about things she never understood growing up. She learns to know about her mother and understand better the quite man she knows as "Dad".

A wonderfully heart-warming story of romance set in a life-time of commitment - rare these days. The author pulls from his own experiences of life in the military and his traditional family/commitment values, a rare gem in today's seedy, flighty world.
