Welcome back to another enlightening episode of "My Bible Thoughts with Pastor Rich." In today's episode, we dive deep into a thought-provoking question: "Why did Christ have to die if we can earn our way to heaven?" Join us as we explore the unchanging promise of salvation through Christ's grace.

In a world where many struggle to find meaning and purpose, some carry the heavy burden of thinking they must earn salvation through their own efforts. However, the truth remains unalterable – the promise of blessing through Christ cannot be changed or nullified by any law or human effort.

Our journey takes us to the heart of this message, as we reflect on the words of Paul in Galatians 3:15–18. Paul draws an analogy to human covenants, emphasizing the unchanging nature of God's covenant with Abraham. He clarifies that the promise is not to many offspring but specifically to one, Jesus Christ. The Mosaic Law, given 430 years later, does not nullify the earlier covenant; instead, the promise remains in effect.

Paul's ultimate message is clear: inheritance and fulfillment of God's promises come not through strict adherence to the law but through faith in God's promise, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ. The blessings and salvation promised to Abraham and his descendants are attained through faith in Christ, not through legalistic observance of the law.

We draw inspiration from the life of Elizabeth Elliot, a renowned Christian author, speaker, and missionary. Despite facing unimaginable challenges, Elizabeth's commitment to her faith led her to write impactful books like "Through Gates of Splendor" and "Shadow of the Almighty." Her journey from striving to earn God's love to discovering peace in Christ's promise serves as a beacon of hope.

Now, let's talk practical application. Here are four actionable steps to navigate this truth in your journey of faith:

1. Reflect on Your Beliefs: Assess your beliefs about salvation. Are you placing too much emphasis on your own works, or are you resting in the promise of Christ's grace?
2. Share the Good News: Just as Elizabeth Elliot found freedom in Christ, share this message of grace with others who may be burdened by the idea of earning salvation.
3. Study the Scriptures: Dive deeper into the Bible and explore more passages that emphasize God's unchanging promise. Understanding His grace can strengthen your faith.
4. Daily Reminders: Create daily reminders to keep the message of grace at the forefront of your mind. Let it be a source of constant encouragement.

In closing, we invite you to join us in prayer, sharing your heart with the Creator, as countless others have done throughout history. Together, let's trust in the unalterable promise of God through Christ and find peace and joy in His love.

Thank you for tuning in to "My Bible Thoughts with Pastor Rich."
