My Disappointments Helped Me Find Strength With Tyquendo Tracey

Listen Later

This week on the show, 2x Jamaican 100m Champion, Olympian and puma athlete professional sprinter, Tyquendo Tracey Joins me on the show.

I really enjoyed my conversation with Tyquendo, he's had an interesting journey to get to where he is today and I think we highlighted parts of that throughout the episode. The transparency in this episode about how an athlete deals with injuries, and disappointments was refreshing to hear. As someone who dealt with my fair share of disappointments in the sport, I knew I wasn't alone with what I was going through, but I felt like I was and to hear how tyquendo narrates his pain and turns into a positive will be in encouragement for many athletes and people in general who might feel alone as well.

In this episode we touch on:

-Growing up in Jamaica

-Lessons he learned from his grandmother and mother
-How he started running track and field
-His transition from high school to university
-Running on a fractured bone
-Disappointments at the 2015 world championships
-His breakout year in 2018
-Olympic trials in 2020
-How he dealt with the disappointment in the Tokyo Olympic games
-How he battled his state of depression
-The importance of support
-What it meant to be an ambassador for lifespan water + and so much more stories in between.
I enjoyed this episode and I believe that you will do. Leave us a comment on our social media platforms or on youtube, subscribe to the show and share this episode with a friend.
