Our message title is taken from James 5:17,18 regarding Elijah, a prophet of God who lived in some very challenging times. Though we read about him in I Kings 19 that "(he) was afraid and ran for his life."; we will look at some events in his life that show an example of a man of great faith JUST LIKE US! Right?? Carrying out John 14:12; right??

Since James, undoubtedly the brother of Jesus and a leader of the church in Jerusalem wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that: "Elijah was a man just like us. . . " (James 5:17 NIV), I would like to take a look at US, by taking just an overview of the life and times of the prophet, Elijah in the message today.

The Holy Spirit plays several roles in our lives that gird us with strength and help us to live in the victorious life that Jesus died to give us. Because He is with me, the impossible becomes possible!

Many have become discouraged and lost hope while trying separately to cope and to overcome the stress of daily life. The life story of one woman in the Bible stands out as a stellar example of emerging in victory over vexation against all the odds.

When it seems like your healing is progressing very slowly (or not at all), it's easy to become discouraged and to give up hope. The Word of God assures us that Jesus carried our sicknesses, diseases, and pain to the cross when He sacrificed His life in atonement for our sins. So what can be done when prolonged illness robs us of our covenant healing? Let's explore together how our faith can overcome and how we can receive the promised result.

The Lord desires that we be “unstuck” from our limited way of thinking so that we can be “transformed by the renewing of our minds” (Romans 12:2).

The Apostle Paul, arguably the greatest Messianic rabbi of the New Testament, eloquently wrote about his relationship with Jesus whom he acknowledges as the Messiah. He stressed the importance of knowing Him and the power of His resurrection, in describing the value of that relationship. The question is, how much do you value your relationship with God through His Son Jesus the Messiah? Are you willing to pay the price of following Him and being changed by Him? In order to truly celebrate in the power of His resurrection, we must also be willing to count the cost.

The early church in the Book of Acts grew rapidly and then multiplied greatly. Thankfully they never forgot the principles Jesus taught them. Consequently, they raised up a continual stream of disciple-making leaders. If they had not, there would be no hope for our generation nor the generation that follows.
