Theme: What Revival Looks Like  Text: Colossians 2:9-16  

In Acts 2:42-47 we find a snapshot of what revival looked like at the birth of Christianity as a result of the Gospel message of repentance and commitment to Jesus “cutting to the heart of the early believers”. They were not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, because it was the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes. In our text for today, Paul reminded the Colossian church that their new lifestyle emanated from who they were in Him.

Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later. But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ. That is why the Holy Spirit says,“Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your heart as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness.” Hebrews 3:5-8 Pastor Harley Kolterman speaks on obedience to the Spirit of God.

3 John 2 says “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” God’s will is for our whole health that we may serve Him and glorify Him in all of our lives.

God’s love for us is awesome. Exodus 34:6 “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in covenant love and faithfulness…” As God has loved us, so should we love one another.

Our words reveal what we believe. “Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:13-15 ESV

You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well.
