Today I will be talking about the texts for July 19, 2026 (Lectionary 16A) with Pastor Kevin Baker. Kevin serves as the pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauzeka, WI.
Once again I will misquote the old adage about parables. It should be "an earthly story with a heavenly meaning" and not the other way around. I am grateful for grace!
We will talk about the parable of the wheat and the weeds, using ample examples from our own gardens. Kevin will share fun facts about an ancient weed that provides an interesting insight into the parable. Thanks for listening!

Oh -- and you'll notice me misquote something my elder parishioners say about the parables. The correct quote is that they are "an earthly story with a heavenly meaning" -- not the other way around!
