Imagine growing up in Yugoslavia (it wasn’t that long ago!), where socialism flourished for a while.

Picture a little boy, Ivan Zeljkovic, who was told “work or no work, the radio will still be playing” → basically a softer version of communism, you could say.

This boy would end up loving the radio, the mic and the cameras. From working in radio shows, to becoming the ‘most popular man in Serbia’ (as the host of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire"), this man left everything behind to become an entrepreneur in Dubai. He understands the media world inside out, and on top of that, understands the world of business in a very unique way. He echoes Gary V’s sentiment → “Every business is a media business”.

Today, Ivan currently spend most of his time running Castvio (which is growing like mad) and Evans Media, and is always dabbling in other entrepreneurial ventures.

I got together with Ivan to talk about:

James’ story starts when we was a teenager.
At 17, James taught himself how to code

And started to monetize it
While his friends were at university and yet to experience ‘the real world’, James had managed to teach himself how to run a business from his bedroom.

Founded in a basement in 2012 and now spanning three continents, James is the CEO and Co-Founder of Grow – a consulting firm with an impressive global client roster including Google, Four Seasons, Casio DP World, and WeWork. Today, James lives in Sri Lanka with his wife and 3 kids, focused on creating his dream lifestyle.
