The choices that we make every day determine where our life goes.
Thinking positive and taking action, combined, that’s what makes you succeed.
Visualizing what you want and really feeling it, it's just what drives you.
The first part is reaching the threshold or finding the leverage to make the change a must.
When you start doing things differently and when you start getting out of your comfort zone, it gets uncomfortable.
But getting comfortable with being uncomfortable is a game changer.
People are mostly not aware of the power that's in them, the power that's in decision.
But all of us have the power in ourselves to choose what we want.
In the end, it's all up to us.
On today’s episode of My Fitness Ride, I talk with Dr. Iren Ortiz, a good friend of mine, about what drives people to make choices and start changing their lives for the better.
Dr. Iren Ortiz is a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician, Board Certified Obesity Medicine Physician and the founder and creator of Care4usMD, which is an online platform that provides medical treatment to patients in Florida and Puerto Rico. She created this platform and now attends to a large population of patients struggling with health issues, mostly overweight, and surprisingly, the underweight population as well.
Iren shares with us how she trained her brain to do something different to help her patients.
She learned how to read her patients and look deeper into what are their reasons for wanting to change.
Some questions I ask:
· What are the statistics of obesity? (07:00)
· What are the environmental triggers, or factors, that cause obesity? (09:10)
· Have you heard of using your blood type for dieting and for what foods you eat? (33:00)
· Why do we lose weight and gain it back? (35:10)
· Can you tell us about your company? (40:45)
In this episode, you'll learn:
· The questions Dr. Ortiz asks her patients, before jumping into a weight-loss program (14:50)
· The reasons why it’s harder for women to lose weight (17:35)
· Methods that can help you replace wrong rewards with something that empowers you (23:15)
· How hunger hormones work (36:55)
· Why intermittent fasting can be efficient (48:00)
