Local, State and Federal Governments often attempt to place additional restrictions or costs on the transaction or transfer of real estate to help reduce the effects of greenhouse gases. While there are often good intentions involved in the creation of these “point of sale mandates" they are a concern for real estate professionals, home buyers and for home sellers, because they drive up home prices. Potential home buyers form their first impression of a home from its curb appeal. Yet often a home's outdoor landscaping is overlooked, or underdone, in the preparation for the sales process. The return on investment of landscaping range from a 100 percent to 1,000 percent and over 75% of top real estate agents across the country say that well-landscaped homes are worth anywhere from 1% to 10% more than homes with no landscaping.
