Fiona Patten is one of Victoria’s most influential social reformers and former Member of Parliament. As founder and leader of the Sex Party - then rebranding to Reason Party - she built a reputation for working across party lines to achieve significant legislative change. 

During her eight years in Parliament, she played a pivotal role in reforms including voluntary assisted dying, safe access zones around abortion clinics, the decriminalisation of sex work, the establishment of Victoria's first medically supervised injecting centre, legalisation of ridesharing, and the introduction of a spent convictions scheme. She also championed drug law reform, establishing Australia's first parliamentary inquiry into cannabis use and a taskforce examining medicinal cannabis driving laws.

Lisa’s deep understanding of Australia’s medical system gave her a unique insight into how and where to make fundamental changes – with the focus on patient-centred healthcare.  

She was one of the earliest advocates for cannabis as a prescription drug, and with its legalisation in 2016, she has worked tirelessly within the field to help guide and work around the complex regulations surrounding this movement.
