We’re not shy about our admiration for our guest, Rebecca Padgett. She is someone who has become very dear to us over the last few years and we simply adore her. 

During this episode, Rebecca graciously offered us an oracle reading for the spirit of the podcast and our collaboration. Rebecca's bio:

Rebecca Padgett (she/her) is a mystic, artist, and oracle devoted to the unseen world, living in an old farm house in Ontario, Canada. She enjoys living with nature and the wide-open, rural landscape which quiets and expands her mind, as well as immersing her in the cycles of the plants, animals, seasons, and night sky around her. She has previously worked with astrology, tarot, reiki, yoga, as well as intuitive abstract painting, a practice mirroring her life card - The Empress - reinforcing a strong connection to intuition and creativity. As she grows further into her voice, Rebecca finds her work to be the exploration of where these two places meet and interconnect to one another. Her work is ever-changing and growing as she is someone who is devoted to the cyclical nature of the universe and the creative process.

Jonathan Koe (they/he) is a queer mystic who’s fluent in the languages of music, astrology, tarot, energy work, statistics, and the Akashic perspective. Their work aims to empower others through compassionate discernment, to nurture communities of passionate seekers, and to expand our sense of interconnectedness beyond the collective myths of binary-thinking and not-enoughness. She values meditative multidisciplinary living through her practices of writing, music, art, movement, breadmaking, astrology, and being outdoors. Through these avenues, Mary is joyfully emerging as an intuitive and comedic mystic. Mary has spent most of the last decade deep in thought in gardens, on a lobster boat, and more recently, an oyster farm. In this episode, Mary and Jonathan hang out with their friend and teacher, Leah Garza.

We had so much fun getting into topics we explored with our Living Systems cohort– decoloniality, resonance, relationality, ontology, presuppositions and more. Leah referenced thinkers who have influenced her work and clarified the distinction between “colonization,” “colonialism,” and “coloniality.” We touched on how a near death experience became a pivot point, the significance of a Scorpio seventh house, and how we’re definitely not in a cult together.

Living Systems is a public scholarship course offering theory, praxis, and community based learning on concepts like decoloniality, ontology, post-humanism, indigeneity, and how we can make pathways back to relational living in the face of climate change.

Leah has two upcoming year-long offerings–the highly anticipated second Living Systems cohort and Make the Road, an akashic mentorship designed to help you create devotional, praxis-based relationships with your source of consciousness.

She has spent nearly two decades in social justice movement spaces, working toward equitable change in public education. She earned her masters degrees in education and depth psychology and is currently working on a Phd in community, liberation, indigenous, and eco psychologies. In another world, Leah is a shapeshifter. The trials incurred personally and collectively, through the Trump administration and later the pandemic and uprisings, made her a seeker. Leah learned to engage her ability to shapeshift as she began to ask questions of her purpose in this lifetime. Leah is a practitioner of the Akashic records, and offers radical healing work through the lenses of decoloniality and relational ways of being to subvert the colonial agenda.
