Remembrance Day marks the end of fighting on the Western Front on November the 11th, 1918. At the time, the anniversary was known as Armistice Day, in reference to the formal agreement the German leaders signed to end the war.The name was changed to Remembrance Day after World War 2 ended in 1945. It has since become a day to remember the service and the sacrifice of all of those who have died since World War One.

As a male I don’t usually need to wear a bra … although I confess I did once — just to see what it felt like, okay! So why then am I telling you about what is predominately a ‘female thing’?

Well, I want you (males in particular) to discover one of the secrets hidden behind the bra — literally.

After finally selling their house in Bendigo VIC, Robyn & Pete Robinson hit the road running with their much loved pooch Paddy. Both do occasional work on the road to help the budget but recently Robyn was offered an opportunity in a very remote part of Australia - Aurukun - a mostly indigenous town just a short 13.5hr drive from Cairns FNQ or 44hrs from Melbourne!

Robyn is a qualified teacher and Art Therapist and is no stranger to working with indigenous people. She also has a great website called Kajeet - www.kajeet.com.au - where you can find out more about Art Therapy and its healing qualities.

In this short podcast we managed to have a quick chat with Robyn to discover more about how they got on the road and WHY she is now off to Aurukun and what she'll be doing there with the local indigenous population - something she is very passionate about.

Having run away as a young teenager to join Ashton's Circus, Gai Weaber-Buchal has had a pretty interesting life with an even more interesting life in her 'semi-retirement' travelling around Australia with just her two dogs, Peppa and Suki.

But we reckon you might be surprised at some of Gai's family background which she reveals in this second chat we had with her as she re-visited us in Hervey Bay QLD on her way back south.

At 15yrs of age most 'young male adults' are either itching to leave home, start work or buy a new X-box or equivalent. Not young Josh! He's passionate about & studying all kinds of things like spiders, tarantulas, scorpions & carnivorous plants! - It's this last one that had us fascinated.

And we bet you too will probably find it hard to pronounce many of the plants he mentions in this short chat we had with him at the Cool Waters Holiday Park in Cairns FNQ

We’re constantly amazed at the number of solo females travelling around Australia – most of them full-time.

Like ‘Wendy’ – who we met during our unexpected but most enjoyable stay hiding out from COVID in Toowoomba last year.

Brian was particularly impressed with Wendy’s purpose-built brand new mini-bus but the conversation soon turned to food – which he’s pretty interested in too!

But as it turns out this ‘foodie’s’ interest goes beyond what most people think about when it comes to food…

Some people diagnosed with a health issue likely to shorten your life choose to just ‘give-in’ and wait for the inevitable.

Not Anthony Moffat aka ‘Moff’ – he wanted to do his part to raise funds for brain cancer research by cycling from the southernmost point on the mainland all the way up the East Coast to the northernmost point at Cape Tribulation.

And…73 days later… after peddling over a hundred kilometres a day – he made it, along with his chief supporter – his wife Arlene who drove their caravan with his extra bikes and monitored his progress every scary step of the way!

The challenge completed… Moff and Arlene stopped over in Hervey Bay on their way home, giving Brian the opportunity to quiz Moff how he felt the ride went and to ask...what’s next?
