My Little Underground

Its June on My Little Underground! You know what that means. Its time for Midterms! This week I bring out my red pen to talk up some of my favorite singles and EPs of the first six months of 2022. Listen as I talk up great singles from Velvet Vision, Doss, and Kelly Moonstone. The first two quarters of the year was also good for some good remix EPs from Bernice and Spoon. I also discuss the similarities between the great extended plays of Mo Dotti and Buster Wolf! Next week, it's all about the LPs!

This week on My Little Underground, it is the third 2022 Anticipated where I await a mixtape that Homeboy Sandman can't sell, an EP from Jobber, a New York professional wrestling themed band, as well as a self produced album from Nashville underground hip hop heavyweight, Namir Blade! 2022 also marks the 20th Anniversary of The Black Keys and their new album looks to be stadium ready. Listen to me talk up the mainstream potential of Grace Ives and Ravyn Lanae, Ty Segall reuniting with guitars, ESG reminding everyone of their veteran status with new music, Dion Lunadon continuing his solo trajectory, and more!

Kassie Carlson, the leading lady of Guerilla Toss is on My Little Underground to talk up the band's debut on Sub Pop, Famously Alive, imposter syndrome, having a glass half full mentality, and our shared love of running! Kassie also shared her new found love of pop music, and we also bond over radio and she gives me an elevator pitch for her Radio Catskill show, Rare Pare Radio. A few of the tunes on Famously Alive sound like they should be in a soundtrack to a video game and I get Kassie's thoughts on possibly getting some Guerilla Toss tunes in the gaming world, and more!

This week on My Little Underground is all about the 20th year of a very popular video game series in the Arriaga household, Ratchet and Clank! I invited my two younger brothers, Richard Arriaga and Smileyarriaga to share their thoughts on the famous Playstation Action Adventure platform game. What’s interesting about Ratchet and Clank is that it also creatively combines RPG, shooter, and puzzle game elements which provides a very unique gameplay experience. Listen to us have a big talk on the original Playstation 2 trilogy (including the spin off, Deadlocked) and the Playstation 3 Future series. Ratchet and Clank is a must have for Playstation 2 and 3 owners.
