EXHALE is the first emotional well-being app designed by and for Black Women. The app offers resources to help cope with the stress associated with everyday life and the effects of systemic racism. That seems to be a tall order for an app. We will have the opportunity to check in with the founder, Katara McCarty who also has a nonprofit and recently released a report, "The State of Self-Care for Black Women" which gathers responses from 1,005 Black Women in the U.S. about their experience of mental, emotional, and physical health in the context of their intersectional identities.
