Hello, and thanks for tuning in to My Next Guest Is... for another episode of 5 Minutes with AJ.

Today’s episode is titled: Developing My Mindfulness Routine.

I received really positive feedback from episode 9, The Pivotal Pixel.  I hope to spend more time talking about topics like this, as I make my own journey, life-long learning, working on building on the positive things in my life, and on evaluating and adjusting the areas where I’d like to see positive change.

What do you do daily, or multiple times a week, to improve your mindful health? Do you have any podcasts or videos you recommend? Are there any content providers you’d like to share?  Any other thoughts on today's content or something you’d like to hear me ramble on about?

Let me know via a message or comment in whatever medium you are listening or watching this.

Whether it's our anchor.fm homepage, Spotify, Facebook, Twitter, Google Podcasts, or our YouTube channel. You can also find these episodes streamed via Breaker, Overcast, Pocket Casts, and RadioPublic.  See below for all the links

The thoughts and ideas presented here are my own, culminated from a variety of sources.  I am not a licensed therapist or mental health professional.  Regarding your own circumstance, you should consult a mental health professional, or call 1-800-622-HELP, that is 800-622-4357, to reach the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration National Hotline.  The SAMHAS’s hotline is a free, confidential, service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for treatment and referral services (both in English and in Spanish) for individuals and families facing mental and/or substance abuse disorders.  As always, if you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911

Today’s episode is the first in a regular series called “Today’s News”, where I’ll open Google News on my phone and read the headlines as they appear.

I’ll do my best to keep the political commentary to a minimum.

My intent with this is to have fun, and not to offend anyone. If something I say offends you, I’m sorry - that it offends you, and not necessarily that I said or did it.

Today’s News just Puns as a regular feature on 5 Minutes With AJ.

Today I'm happy to share with you my first individual spotlight.  I'd like you to meet Dana Lynch, who has founded S.A.F.E. House Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc., (S.A.F.E. = “saving animals from euthanasia.").

Their mission is "to advocate for animals by providing fulfillment of their physical, mental and emotional needs; and to provide public education to improve their quality of care throughout all life stages.  We aim to build a community of responsible and educated pet owners, and to improve relationships between members of the animal community including veterinary professionals, pet owners and individual animal advocacy groups.  Our primary focus is dogs and cats in the tristate area, though we strive to network with groups who work with all species in order to provide resources for those in need."
