Welcome to episode 8. We have reached the last episode for this season of My Own Lane, and I wanted to close it out by having someone I admire and have had the pleasure of working with. Elizabeth is a badass female killing it in event production and is the definition of what I call GOALS. As the Advancing & Guest List Manager with Made Events in New York, she is THE liaison between talent and their team and venues or festivals, meaning all of the event details are confirmed with her. Therefore, she receives artists' riders, guestlists, and she offers venue or event details like ticketing pricing and load-in and soundcheck times. She is the go-to person for venues such as the Brooklyn Mirage, Webster Hall, and Quantum Brooklyn. Since Made Events is responsible for one of East Coast’s popular music festivals Electric Zoo, you better believe she is in charge there too. Elizabeth knows and has close friendships with prominent EDM artists, but above all, she demonstrates why her skills and knowledge have taken her to different places and events outside of New York to work.
At the time of the interview, she was gearing up to work the first festival back from this ongoing pandemic, Ubbi Dubbi, in Texas. Since then, she has also worked the Sunset Music Festival in Tampa and welcomed events back at the Brookly Mirage, Webster Hall, and Quantum Brooklyn. With Electric Zoo right around the corner, she is preparing for the chaos that lies ahead on Labor Day weekend.
In this interview, we talk about her experience working in a male-dominated industry. Elizabeth gets candid and shares why it is important for her to use her managerial role to lead and uplift the next generations of event producers. And we touch on a few departments in event production you can tap into to get your foot in the door of live events.

Welcome to episode #7 of My Own Lane. Today’s guest is the talented Filipina American journalist and podcast host, Mya Constantino. At the time of the interview, she shared the exciting news that she would be leaving her home in Las Vegas to come live in California for a role she accepted in Santa Rosa. Since the interview, I am happy to share that she has moved and lives that Cali life as a writer for the Press Democrat.
In our interview, we touched on healing, her ‘Searching for Mya’ blog, the short series, Envision podcast, having parents not fully on board with her career choices, and I took it back in time and asked about her experience interviewing, mayor of San Antonio, Texas Julian Castro.
UPDATE: Since the interview recording, she has started her own podcast, the Deep Take project. Make sure you check it out.

Welcome to episode #6 of My Own Lane. This week’s guest is June Martinez, the sole-woman producer behind the now syndicated Stryker and Klein morning show. I wanted to bring June on board for this series because she’s a Latina working in radio and succeeding in one of LA radio’s longest-running radio station KROQ 106.7. She started as a promotions assistant and switched over to the programming department as a board operator. As a board operator, she was responsible for making sure the music programmed got aired accordingly, answering the radio listeners’ phone calls, and selecting contest winners for the on-air giveaways, among other things.
In this episode, June talks about what her professional journey has looked like thus far. Her path has not been an easy one. She talks about making personal and professional sacrifices to be where she currently is. We also dive in on mental health because, as I mentioned in the episode, she is open about her struggles and uses her platforms to bring awareness to her audience. Furthermore, we touch on other career-changing aspirations she has, once again proving to us that there are no limits to what one can do or when to start. I welcome you to tune in for this and much, much more.

Hi Everyone, Welcome to episode #5. If you made it this far, I want to thank you for tuning in, and if this is your introductory episode, welcome to My Own Lane. Today’s guest is Dania Nasri, a good friend of mine. She is a dancer, certified Zumba instructor, personal trainer and has found her niche in fitness and dancing.
The Mexican and Syrian dancer and content creator shares what is working for her brand on social media and what she is doing to build a strong presence on Instagram.
Since the recording of the episode, the number in her Instagram following has gone up. With an audience over 6k, she reminds us that there is no limit to what we can do by detailing what time management looks like for her since she rehearses choreography, gets ready, edits her clips, and manages her social media activity.

Welcome to episode 4 with guest Angie O’Campo. After graduating with a master’s degree in Communications from Cal State Fullerton, Angie created her own lane by working independently with others as a social media story organizer. Through her professional journey, she discovered that her true passion is to help others share their story, clarify their purpose, and strengthen their vision. Currently, she is transitioning to become an established Personal Brand Strategist. By utilizing her skill sets in social media and storytelling, she aims to help others reach their full potential.
In our interview, Angie talks about her professional journey as a freelancer. She shares how and when she realized it was time to shift gears and dedicate more time as a Personal Brand Strategist and also offers tips to bridge a connection with social media influencers.

Welcome to episode #3 of My Own Lane. My guest today is Filipino American digital content creator Shannon Santos. Before becoming the full-time Social Media manager for LA’s radio station, 97.1 AMP (97.1 NOW) radio, Shannon was a promotions assistant tapping in different areas that included artist hospitality, designing and creating content for the radio station’s social media platforms and website, proving she is a Shannon of all trades. While the pandemic came and altered her professional life, she did not let it knock her out. She has kept busy working independently as a photographer and helping small businesses improve their social media presence.
I welcome you to tune in as Shannon talks about how she’s navigated this pandemic. As a social media manager and digital content creator, she shares her insights and favorite social media platforms. She closes it out by inspiring us to celebrate the small victories when creating our own lane.

Welcome to episode 2 with guest Lexi Williams. Lexi came to mind as a guest when I began to develop the series because she has created her own lane through content writing, designing, and running her rave wear clothing brand, HDBNGR RVWR.
The Bronx native is on the road to reaching further horizons with her brand. She founded HDBNGR RVWR (Acronym for Headbanger Ravewear) with the purpose to make everyone feel welcomed and accepted.
As an Afro-Latina, Lexi advocates for inclusion and supports the Black Lives Matter movement, the plus-size community, and mental health.
Stick around as she talks about how the rave scene has helped positively influence her body image and entrepreneurial path. She also offers advice to those looking to own a business and closes it out by sharing what success means to her.

Helping me kick things off is my first guest, Carla Jara. I think Carla is an excellent representation of what I want to present and deliver to our audience because she’s taken her skills (photography, videography) and created her own career lane by producing content. She has been hustling during these challenging times. And as a content creator, she is not afraid to share her experiences, feelings, and vulnerabilities. On social media, the Filipina creative refers to herself as "Your Music Biz Big Sis." Quite frankly, she lives up to that role by providing resources and tips to aspiring content creators and photographers.
Stick around as she talks about her professional journey, offers advice, and closes it out by sharing what success means to her.
UPDATE: Since the interview recording, Carla and co-host Jas have launched the Cracking the Coconut podcast. A podcast centered around the Filipino experience which aim is to bridge the gap between Filipinos and Filipino-Americans.
