Got our engines running and ready for another Partridge Family Collection treasure!

The Partridge Family merchandise heyday might be over, but there’s still some life left in the ‘ol 55 Mondrian-painted bus! In 1998, Johnny Lightning released a multitude of 1:87 scale die-cast Partridge Family buses and model kits that were (and still are!) a super hot commodity. 

Join me as I share my full collection of this 90’s surprise, along with a prototype of the model kit released in the early 2000’s. We’ll also learn about the Johnny Lightning brand, the “Hollywood on Wheels” series, and a few Mondrian gems from Hot Wheels!

We take a break from My Partridge Family Collection for this special episode, as we examine the unexpected turn of events at the California Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony of David Cassidy in April, 2024.

While the CMHOF has since issued an apology via their Facebook page, the damage was done and could have been avoided if the person inducting David had been properly vetted. Instead, David Cassidy fans came from near and far, anticipating a tribute to a beloved icon, only to be left disheartened and outraged by the disrespect of the speech.

While this event is done and gone, I felt a need to rebroadcast this special episode on the podcast version of My Partridge Family Collection. 

Let’s honor David's contributions to music and entertainment and celebrate the joy and inspiration he continues to bring to fans worldwide. Together, let's make sure that David's legacy shines bright, undiminished by the negativity of one speech.

It’s Music Appreciation class and today’s lesson is Tony Romeo 101 with special guest, award-winning songwriter Ken Wank!

Ken is a Tony Romeo aficionado who was inspired to write songs when hearing the music of The Partridge Family while studying to become a chiropractor. Now that’s a story!

Ken drops by to tell more stories, share a few unbelievable items from his collection, read us an email he received from David Cassidy, and we’ll even play a few of his songs. Plus, we’ll discuss a few of our favorite Tony Romeo songs from Ken’s unique perspective.

Ken was also featured in Louise Poynton’s incredible book “Cherish” and appeared on an episode of “The David Cassidy Connections” podcast.

There won’t be a test after, but you’ll definitely learn some cool things about the music of Tony Romeo from a musician/songwriter none other than Ken Wank!

If you’re a 70’s kid, you probably remember what it was like on a wintery day when you couldn’t go outside and there was nothing to do but watch bowling or I Love Lucy reruns.
