Here's what you asked for...more about my health journey and what I've experienced the last couple of years. I'm not a doctor and this is definitely not medical advice...I'm just sharing my story in the hopes that it will help another woman out there who is struggling.
As I look back on the past few years, I want to share with you some of the things I've done to support my health and how I have made changes in some areas. Plus because I want to be on this earth for as long as God allows...I need to take care of my temple. To perform the tasks and missions He's given me, I have to take good care of my body and my earth suit...and that starts from within.
“Your health is your wealth. Literally your health is everything”.
When I was young, I had a hip disorder where the blood stopped flowing the head of my femur. Despite the pain, I was still able to live an active life growing up and even played college soccer as a goalkeeper. After college, I was dealing with massive amounts of constant pain that ended up being early arthritis, so my quality life drastically changed it as I had known if for the last 16 years. All of this led to a deep depression and at 25 years old, I had my first hip replacement--best decision and my quality of life improved; however. I wish I could say the life long issues with my hip ended there.
Later on in my 20s, my parents intervened because I was still struggling with pain and my weight and I knew I had to change something. So I finally ended an unhealthy relationship and began making progress with my health. As part of my journey, I met some amazing doctors and therapists. Later, I met my husband, Scott.
In 2019, after I got engaged, I had a vision of fitting into my dream wedding dress, but I didn't want to starve myself or workout 24/7...so I didn't and I still got in to the best shape of my life--I felt so healthy and was ready to get married!
Exactly one month after the wedding, we became pregnant. Unfortunately, we lost the baby. There's no easy way to say that--it was one of the absolute toughest experiences of my life. While I was in the ER, they discovered I had a mass on my adrenal glands. The mass was determined not to be cancer, which was a relief.
Since that day, I have struggled with hormone imbalances, thyroid problems, low energy, brain fog, not feeling like myself, mood swings, hair loss, and weight gain...just to name a few and I know I can't be the only one who's ever experienced these things. And I won't stop until I get answers and help to feel back to "normal".
Yes, I know there's still a long way to go and this is part of my journey, but my hope is that while we're on this journey...my story can provide some comfort for you too. Know that you are not alone! If you'd like to reach out in the DM's on Instagram, I'm here for you.
Sister girl, you are amazing and you got this.
